Finding infil plots?

Is there any way i can find infil plots in towns for development? Ideally a site like Google Earth or Multimap Aerial, but the trouble with these two sites is that they dont zoom in enough. Would land registry maps be any good? If so where would i find these? Any help would be much appreciated.

1. There are databases available that will search a county, or some part of it according to usage. It's not 100% accurate, but it will certainly narrow down your search. These are certainly available to Realtors like me. If you don't want to work with a Realtor, you can go directly to your county assessor or recorder and ask what kind of search capabilities they offer to the public.
