where can i Find Aerial Photos of my house from the 1950-1960?

I live in gettysburg PA my home was biult some time in the 1950's the sooner the photo is to the day it was built the better Free is best the photos will be used as a gift in a scrap book so a nice quility would be good.

  1. Try google earth. Don't know if you can print it or not. I looked at an aerial view of the house I lived in, in Rhode Island, 60 years ago.

Since you live in a pretty historic town you can call your local gov't (you can find the info here: http://www.state.pa.us/ ) I can basically guarantee you that if you contact them (they have an email option too) then can give you more info, such as the law firm that represented the original land owners, etc. If you do get that info, and the law firm is still there, you can contact them and ask for copies of the photos. If the law firm isn't there, then the photos are most likely in the states housing and land development department. Good luck!
  3. don't know if this place can help but you can look at it. you probably would have to contact the history department at a gettysburb college or library.
  4. go to Archive Center or museum or ask millitary map department. They have service about old map. or go to university where they teach conservation or city plan. There are many professors know how to get old map.
  5. Contact your local historical society and see if they have any records or photos.
