When is Google earth going to upgrade their aerial photos?
They're still showing my next door neighbor as a vacant lot when in fact it now supports a duplex rental unit. I live in N. Illinois.

- I believe those aerial photographs are taken by the U.S. Geological Society. They do it every so many years (not sure of the exact number). So, I don't think that it is up to Google to take the pictures.
- It depends on the area. If you zoom out, youll see strips of slightly differant colors taken at differant times. My city has pictures from 4 differant years. Eventually, your area will get passed by a sattalite for a survery and it will update.
- They are updating all the time, but there is an unbelievable amount of data and it only comes in at a certain rate.
- According to how long ago the duplex was built... Google has updated their pics this year already...
- They keep that info confidential, because they don't want people doing things just so it gets in the picture.
