Aerial View Maps

what is a good search engine for maps and reading directions to locations?

  1. http://maps.google.com Beware though these sites do not necessarily show true locations. They split up the street evenly among the blocks, but in my case, the hotel I manage shows up about 10 blocks south of here, south of the Interstate instead of north of it on Yahoo Maps, Google Maps etc... Mapquest actually shows us correctly but I had to send them a fax and it took 3 months to fix. Take these maps with a few grains of salt.
  2. If in America, AAAMaps.com Europe mappy.com UK multimap.co.uk
  3. maps.yahoo.com if you put in 2 addresses, it'll give you step by step direction instructions
  4. I use mapquest.com
  5. You can search in google's map search engine which will give you an exact location of whereever you are looking for throughout the world. All you need to do is play around with this plan view of the map. It permits you to zoom in and out, view in map, satelitte or hybrid mode. Check it out and please tell me if it was helpful.
  6. I use randmcnally.com since they produce maps for purchase as well I have found them to be more accurate than mapquest
  7. If you are a member of AAA you can go to their website and get driving directions. I have found them to be the most accurate.
  8. Windows Live Local will give you literally a birds eye view of where you are going in most significant cities. Might want to give them a try.
