What is the best Camera to Take Aerial Photos?....also at what altitude is best?.....thanks...

  1. It isn't about the camera, it's about the many other factors that effect the quality of your images. The most difficult thing about aerial photography is being able to avoid the inherent movement resulting from the movement of the airplane (motor, turbulence, etc.) and the speed of the plane. The closer to the ground you get, the more the speed of the plane will play into the blur and distortion. You also need to comply with the ordinances of flying too low in populated areas and follow the FAA height regulations in general. On top of all that, weather conditions will greatly effect the outcome of your results. It is best to take aerial images as close as you can to maintain the proper perspective. However, often the size of your subject (a house, for instance) would be so far from the camera, you might want to use a telephoto lens to improve the image quality (see above, for other factors effecting quality). I strongly suggest using a relatively high shutter speed and ISO to minimize the effect of camera shake and movement associated with picture quality. Good luck.
