aerial photos?

does anybody know of a site where you can get an aerial photo of your house for free? i have googled this subject , but the ones that are coming up only allow you to view from about 1/2 mile up , i was looking for something , say 150-200 yards.

  11. google earth is pretty good. although there are areas that aren't yet mapped and appear as green blocks, these seem to be less inhabited areas like mountains and isolated inland areas Gotta admit.. Ive done it too.   12. Depends were you live. In London you can come down to 200 feet with Google earth
  13. Why is everyone answering google earth , if you already said that you've tried it.
  14. Dim (as I'll call you for short), do you realise what level of spy technology would be needed to take the kind of photograph you're looking for? The reason why most aerial photographs (including the excellent Google Earth) look as though they're taken from half a mile up is that they're actually taken by satellites way, way higher than that, using the best magnification they can. The guys who suggested a helicopter or a camera mounted on a model airplane aren't giving you dumb answers; those are actually the only way to achieve the sort of result you want. And, of course, that kind of picture won't come free. So, the short answer is that unfortunately you can't get what you're looking for without paying for it. (And, on second thoughts, it's *not* unfortunate. I'm glad that kind of surveillance isn't available for free all over the internet.)
  15. Yes, Google Earth. You can use the zoom control to go to an eyelevel of about 30 feet above the ground. In areas where the survey is to the highest resolution this allows you to make out cars, chairs on patios etc. but not in clear detail.
  16. Come down to 200 feet on Google earth. Save the photo. Move sideways and take another photo. You can build up lots of these to cover a large area at high resolution

  18. Sorry, but there is no such animal. For a satellite to be close enough to capture detailed images, it has to be a polar orbiting satellite. That means it circles the earth once each day passing over any given location once during daylight hours. There are no satellites that pass over your house at 150 yards up.
