Is there a way to view a live satellite image from space. I want to see real time images?
Public Comments
- No. There are no real time satellite images available for free. In fact, I don't know of any non-military real time images that are available to the public at all. Of course, weather imaging is real time and is available to everyone (www.weather.com if one site you can use.
- There is no way for any of the public to view anything live via satellite. That concept just is not available to the public. What you can do though...is..go to Earthcam.com There...you can view a variety of camera views around the world....some are updated at different intervals...some are actual live streaming video. Earth based cameras are available to the public...but..live satellite views are not.
- there is no satelite for live images, but you can look at the earth with Google Earth
- It may not be what you're after, but something you can see live in real time: gorgeous views of Earth from cameras aboard the International Space Station and the Space Shuttles. The STS-124 mission is underway right now, and NASA TV provides lots of live coverage from the ISS and Discovery while the crews go about completing their objectives. The current shuttle flight is tentatively scheduled to land June 14th, so there's plenty of time left to watch the ongoing activities, which frequently include their cameras trained on the planet.
