I have two Logitech webcams on two different computers in two locations, one with Windows XP and the other with Windows 7. I always have permission to view both webcams from my home computer. When I open the webcam on the XP machine via YIM, it shows a real time image, although sometimes with a minute or two delay. When I opened the webcam on the Windows 7 machine, I see a still image that is hours old, but the "Last image received at" time is current. Today I was on the Window 7 machine and saw the image update as I moved my jacket, but when I got home my jacket was still in the same place. It is not just my satellite connection causing this as a friend with DSL notices the same delay when viewing the webcam on the Windows 7 computer. If I access the Windows 7 machine remotely using LogMeIn, the webcam image is current (real time), so it seems that the real time image simply does not transmit. I have to close the webcam and reopen it to see a real time image on my home computer. This seems to be a Windows 7 issue because it does not happen with Windows XP. Can anyone explain this?
