How do I map an alternative route to the one that Maps gives me? (WI to Wash, D.C. via Columbus...)?
Am driving from Milwaukee to Washington, but do not want to go through Pennsylvania. Looking for a map/directions for the"southern route" and don't know how to get Yahoo maps to run this.

- try "mapquest" they have different ways to map your route...shortest, longest, scenic...and stuff like that
- Look at a "real" map (you can even print a blank one from any map service) and map it out yourself. That way you can decide exactly which road you want to take each leg of the route. It's more fun to do things your own way than to do them the way a computer tells you!

- I agree that your best bet is to plan your trip via a "real" map. If that's not enough, you could map it online in stages. Say, Milwaukee to Columbus, then Columbus to ???, ??? to ???, and ??? to DC. Just curious why you want to avoid Penn? We make this trip yearly via turnpike, and besides the speeding ticket last year, have never had problems. And construction has pretty much finished!
