Can navigation systems receive any directions from a computer @ home?

I know almost everything is possible which is the reason why I want to know if anyone can answer this. Is there a way that someone from home could send directions to any GPS that may be on the road. I know that mapquest and even yahoo is able to send map directions to mobile phones, so I'm hoping this is possible.

1. Here is one approach You setup at home a web server with all the content you want and in a format appropriate to be read by cell phones or other mobile devices. From you cell phone you enter the URL of your home page and then you can access all your home content.
