  1. www.Mapquest.com will give detailed directions from point A to point b.
  2. Try this site--http://www.mta.info/busco/index.html . Should be what you need.
  3. You can get a map of the subway and a bus schedule in all of the subways. You can also buy the metro cards there. The Staten Island Ferry(s) are free. The local buses are located outside of the ferry terminal. The Metro employees and security guards are always happy to help, if you need assistance. Wear some warm clothing, as the ride to Staten Island is rather chilly!!
  4. I think I got your answer. Check the link below. If you know where you're going I be glad to help. Happy Holiday Native New Yorker
  5. You can use the MTA trip planner at the link below to find out how to get from your exact address in Bklyn to where you are going in Staten Island. (Kind of like Mapquest, only using all available forms of NY transit instead of highways.) I will tell you that the only way into Staten Island from Brooklyn is by bus, unless you want to take a train ride into Manhattan to the SI Ferry and then catch the ferry into SI. If you do that, there are connections to SI buses, and the SI railroad at the terminal. You can also call 718-330-1234 daily from 6am to 10pm to speak to a live person who can help you with directions. I've used that number quite successfully on several occasions. The trip planner is something new that I haven't tried yet, but it seems like it would work just fine as well. Honestly though, unless you live right over the Verrazano bridge in Bay Ridge, you are looking at one LONG ride each way. If the fare is reasonable, I suggest calling car service instead.
