Aerial View Maps

I want to dvelop a website which will need to use Google maps... Can I tap into this technology legally?

I want to develop a website which, while otherwise entirely unique, will need to use google maps style aerial imaging based on an address that the user would type in. IDEALLY, I would just freely tap into Google maps, can this be done legally? Yes, I DO intend on making money on this website. Don't take my question TOO literally. I don't necessarily need to use google maps if Its not the most practical way, if there is another way to tap into the same technology I can go for that too. Without giving too much of my idea away, basically, A user will type an address, the aerial shot of that address with then be incorporated into what will eventually be the purpose of my website. - The purpse doesn't matter too much, My question is: Whats the best and most cost efficient way to tap into this technology so it can be used on my site?

  1. IDK
  2. You can certainly gain access to Google maps or Bing maps. There are well known and published APIs for both. You will need to check the terms and conditions for using the APIs, there may be restrictions on their use for certain commercial purposes. Google's street view is more complete than Bing's equivalent, while Bing's aerial imagery is often bettern than Google's.
