Why does one recent satellite image look different to other?

If this is a real time live satellite image of Earth: http://www.n2yo.com/ You have to click on the satellite button on the map to see it. Why isn't the UK all white as in this image the other day: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/8447023.stm I thought that it hasn't been warmer since that second image? Is the first one a fake? Is the first one google maps? I thought it said it's a real time live satellite image. How can you get a real time live satellite image of the UK?

  1. Clicking the "satellite" button on Google Maps does not give you an actual real time satellite image. It's a composite of tons of images, carefully stitched together to highlight the Earth's topography. That's why you don't see any clouds and why it appears to be summer everywhere. The image of the UK is, on the other hand, very much real.
