How do you determine building height from aerial photos.?

Is there a formula I can use to determine structure height given the latitude, time of day, time of year, and shadow length? Also, if there were any reworkings of the formula, say if you know the height and shadow length and date/time, can you find the location?

1. This site explains several formulas used to determine height of an object in an airphoto based on the shadow. I'd re-type it but I am limited here to single-line equations. I haven't tried to rework the formula but it seems logical that you could figure out the latitude at least.
