ipod touch maps: can you save directions when you are on wifi and reference the directions/map off wifi?

thinking of buying an ipod touch and was wondering about the maps function id like to get my directions when i am at home and use them while i am driving

1. i am thinking of getting an ipod touch and i have been wondering the same thing. I think you can save your directions while on wifi and pull them up driving, but im not sure, because wat good would it do if u can't pull it back up later
