What should I major in when I go to college?

I want to be a photographer and I know that I could major in that, but I read this on the National Geographic website: "National Geographic photographers have college degrees in a variety of disciplines. Most did not major in photography, but all took photo courses. The most common majors have been journalism, anthropology, sociology or psychology, fine arts, and sciences. Our editors and photographers agree that it is important to complete a degree in a discipline other than photography. Freelancers usually come to us with at least five years of photojournalism experience or with specializations such as wildlife, underwater, nature, or aerial photography. We seek balance and an eclectic blend of interests, abilities, and photographic styles in the freelancers we hire." It's my dream to be a photographer for National Geographic, so what should I do?

2. mmm the pictures in national geographic are gorgeous, thats like my dream job that i would never pursue in real life cuz im not talented enough. i would take their advice. you could major in some sort of social science or like history or something like environmental biology? or maybe international studies or in a foreign culture or language. and then minor in some kind of fine art. if you can find something that truly interests you though i would pursue that. whatever makes you happy. just make sure you express yourself and get plenty of experience and whatnot.
3. Photography. Getting a job doing that ilike finding a needle in a hay stack. Any job in either the media or entertainment is a pipe dream for 99% of the seekers.
