When traveling to a place you've never been, which of the 2 ways do you take?
I'm traveling to a place where I've never been in a few days and can't decide which route to take. 1) Mapquest directions, takes 3 hours, but I'll have to go in and around a bunch of big cities, and have to turn onto a bunch of different highways/interstates. 2)My directions based on a map I was looking at. Takes 4 hours, but I only have to go around one big city and only have two interstates and one highway to go onto. The drive (Ill be the one driving) is making me extremely nervous, and I can't decide which way to go. They both have their positives and their negatives. So, what way would you rather take?

- I would stick with the second one. I'd rather spend more time driving with less pain... it looks like it's easier to get lost using the 1st option. Have a safe ride.
- Stick to the second route; if you're going through and around a bunch of cities then it's going to take a lot longer than 3 hours
- second choice sounds better
- Stick to the second plan, from my personal experience mapquest is often wrong. Another option would be to try and find a local from that area and run it by them. They may be able to tell you of another route, and let you know about current road conditions. YA! is a good forum for finding people from all over, also tripadvisor forums are very good and informative.
- Mapquest is odd...and not always correct. I'd go by the directions you have or try Mapsco or Yahoo maps.
- I would take the mapquest way mixed with your directions as they fit and refer back to mapquest as you need to so that you know you are on the right track.
