Does Google Earth Work?
If I wanted to get real time, satellite images or places is Google Earth the best program to purchase for this sort of thing? Also, is it TRULY real-time and accurate?

- Google earth is not real time. TThe data comes from USGS arieal photos from the past 30 years.
- It isn't real-time, and can be quite old, but the quality is really good & accurate. Google Earth does have a free version too, so you won't actually be purchasing anything!!
- You won't be able to get real-time images, but they are pretty dang close. Even with that being the case, Google Earth is a pretty dang good "program". Can't think of any really good reason for "real-time" except for something like traffic congestion. Not a good idea to use it for something like voyeurism. Anyway, yes, Google Earth is a good, solid program, and it has alot to like in it. Just to make it clear, alot of the stuff on there is pretty dang old, but stuff like the realtime traffic is actually pretty close to realtime.
- There are no real-time mapping applications, obviously for people's security. The government probably wouldn't would allow such an application. But Google Earth is completely free and really useful. The map is accurate and will get you the closest compared to other options. You can buy extremely high-quality images on the internet from various sites for a good chunk of change, though I've never done that or seen any images to testify for that option. For free, Google Earth is the best you're going to get. They update the images about once a year and is a really cool application to begin with.
- The pictures from Google earth are only updated every few years I have heard, I looked up a few places in my area and I can tell from the photos they are over a year old. So ia m not sure how or where you could get the info in real time but I wondered that myself when i wanted to "spy" on my stepson, it didn't pan out.....
- yes. google earth works.
