Is there a way to use Satellite to see a live picture of a specific area?
I heard that there was a website where you could input a specific address or location and it would allow you to see an image of that place in real time. I can't find it though. All I've been able to find is Satellite images of that area that were taken years and years ago. My husband is a repo man and it would be real nice to see if the car was even on the property before we waste the time & fuel to drive out in search of it. (I'll rate all serious answers accordingly)

- Fairly certain that this would not be possible unless A) you owned the satellite or B)you work for the government
- My would think not - never heard of one anyway. Military would probably have one, but not for public use.
- You can get help from Google earth,NAV GPS assisting services & with help of MSN Live...you need to have permission from Govt & militry..normally only vips get this facility due to security reasons. my best wishes I hope u may get some help to get that soon..bye take care
- Short answer is no, it's not possible. Long answer... as most of the orbital cameras are owned by NASA or the US military or equivalents for other nations, the only way would be to get a job in the space or military organisation that let you look at live satellite images. Plus you'd possibly need to reposition a satellite to look down on where you wanted, which would need high level clearance. Using a few millions of satellite gear to locate a car to save a journey is not cost effective, so you're very unliekly ever to get that capability. Repo of a battleship, yes. Repo of a car, no.
- I believe Google has something like this. It may not be real-time, but a delayed picture, but you could check over a period of time & if it sits in the same place you might know if it's even driveable, maybe has a flat, won't start, etc. My daughter said she pulled her own up & could see her car in her driveway. Right now I think it only works for bigger cities, not in country areas.
- There is on way a civilian will be able to get recent satellite pictures. Maps on the internet are atleast 6 months old. And they are edited to remove people and cars from the image. Military recon satellites cannot take live images, because of interferences like cloud cover, rain and the likes. The possible still images they do get will be minutes or even hours apart. And the genius who said to get permission from the govt has watched Enemy of the state too many times.
