Aerial View Maps

Looking for medium/high-resolution satellite or aerial photographs of landscapes - jungle, desert, mountains,?

I'm specifically looking for things that aren't too far away or too close to the earth - from elevations of, say, 500 to 5,000 feet or: an image that has from a few square blocks to a few square miles of landscape from above.

1. Google Earth. It's free and has a very flexible zoom feature which lets you look from any reasonable height. I recently spent some time in a foreign country and was able to find my hotel after I got home. I could even see the beach umbrellas.
