Do any cities in California have any large exclaves? I have noticed that a few cities in California appear, on maps, to have exclaves (incorporated city in unincorporated county areas), but these seem to be only water treatment plants and wells. Are there any cities in California where incorporated land is unconnected to the city it is a part of? If so where, and what is the property?
Can someone please post a link for the map of California? A good California inland city? I was considering moving to Chula Vista CA, but all the future dooms day map seers has me a bit concerned. And I do not want to be in proximity of an earthquake zone in case the big one hits (or when). So basically away from an earthquake threat, and far enough inland (perhaps 100+ ft) so I can out run a regional dooms day scenario. Now here are my basic criteria along with the above that must be met - if there is such a place: 1/ A fairly dense commercial area - many shops, restaurants, everyday services, entertainment (an area or metropolises large enough where I can go at least 15 miles in two directions and not be in isolation from businesses and civilization) 2/ The city age must not be too old - say no more than 35yr medium home age Well thanks a lot - cheers to your great state! When I say "city age" I mean the medium home age, not the peoples age II have recently found fair seeming cities (Sacramento metropolisis) that may meet my requirement - Roseville, Folsom, and Orangevale. The first two look pretty nice, especialy Folsom - quite beautiful water views, but perhaps it lacks much business?, but I hear two new malls are in the planing that may bring new retail, the smaller city already has a higher density of people, just lacks the businesses I think?
Exactly where is the Guadalupe Miracle in the Mojave Desert in CA? I heard there is a Our Guadalupe Ghost(?) that appears on the 13th of every month. Its near Lopez Canyon & California City & Slymar in Mojave Desert in California but I cannot find an exact location. I did a search on google and found a few articles but no exact location. I tried google maps also. Anyone know about this? I want to go out and explore and has anyone been there? Any addresses, phone numbers?

Well first of all i checked on Google maps and apparently it is possible to do such a thing but i want to know if anyone has actually done it before and if it is a good idea. Where can I find driving directions from San Francisco, California to Buenos Aires, Argentina? A friend of mine is going to Argentina, and although he has already decided to fly, I thought it would be interesting to see how to get there by car. I tried both Yahoo! and Google Maps, but neither of those sites could give me directions (in fact they did not even give directions to Mexico City. Mapquest did not give an option be to put in another country. Does anyone know of an international map website that could give directions, or does anyone know someone who has driven from North America to South America? Thanks for the responses. Mapquest only seems to give directions for travel within the US or within Europe. Rand Mcnally only seems to work for directions within the US. I would love to know a source for info about the drive from Tierra del Fuego to Point Barrow, Alaska!!! I did not know there are roads in northern Alaska, but I could be wrong. I would be happy just knowing how they got from Buenos Aires to Fairbanks! I did once see a TV show about a drive from Bejing to Paris, but neither Google or Yahoo! can do this either =(
Why does Orange County California seem to tend to vote Republican? I was looking at the votes by county in the last election and noticed that Orange County voted GOP. In a state like CA, I thought that was interesting especially given that the OC is the second most populous county in the entire nation (and generally the large the population of a city, the more liberal). I think i remember seeing other votes by county maps from other elections and the OC was GOP.
How can I find out about real estate prices in different areas of California? I currently rent in San Diego, CA and I am thinking about moving. Without just driving all over California, how can I find out about areas, rental prices, housing prices, etc? Especially if I don't know the names of the areas - Say, I am interested in moving north east of San Diego? Or, do I just have to go and look on a map and do a search for each and every city? Isn't there a mega real estate web site that lists things for all of CA? Thanks!
Is there an online, free program that I can use to plot points on a map of Southern California, with my copy? I need a scalable map of Southern California, onto which I can type in the name of businesses in specific cities...to show the relationship of distances between those businesses. Something that I can send (as an attachment) to others and they can enlarge or reduce areas they want to view. This can be a program or a Web site.
We are relocating to Az from Southern California. From the following cities, which has the best schools? I have a 7yr old daughter and she will be going to 2nd grade this year. She is currently in a small private school with only 18 children in the class. Which of these cities have the best schools in the area? Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Peoria, or Glendale? I am also interested in the safest city and family oriented. We are a family of 4 plus my mom who will be relocating with us. My husbands job and mine (hopefully) will be in Phoenix. How is the commute from theses cities to Phoenix. I was looking on yahoo maps and trying to see how far theses cities are from Phoenix and I get the miles and time. But I know that it's definitely better to get someone who lives or knows the area to tell you how it really is. Help please!

Did you see this??? One town, one state at a time??? Nancy Cunningham: Victim or co-conspirator? Nancy Cunningham has had plenty of time to gather her thoughts about the man she now refers to as "Mr. Cunningham" and the millions of dollars worth of goodies he was bringing home supposedly on a congressmen's salary. 34 Comment(s) Visit our news blogs at blog.nctimes.com. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local illegal immigration laws draw a diverse group of cities By: DAVID FRIED - Staff Writer ESCONDIDO ---- When a City Council majority voted last month to draft an ordinance banning illegal immigrants from renting in the city, Escondido joined a diverse bunch of 30 small towns and midsize cities around the country that have considered, and in some cases passed, similar local legislation. There are industrial cities in the Northeast, rural towns that barely stand out on a map, and growing metropolitan suburbs in 13 states that have all looked at doing what Escondido has proposed, fining landlords for renting to undocumented immigrants. Most of the towns and cities also want to prohibit business licenses for companies that hire undocumented workers, and make English the official language of local government. Try to determine a common denominator among the cities, however, and there is only one: Joseph Turner, the founder of Save Our State, an anti-illegal immigration group that tried to drum up support for a similar initiative he wrote. Turner's efforts in his hometown failed earlier this year. But the 29-year-old activist from San Bernardino said that, despite his initial setback, everything is going to plan. "Without a doubt, I was trying to franchise an idea, a cookie-cutter," Turner said in a recent interview. Spontaneous combustion Turner said he was sure that his initiative would tap into what he described as a growing sense of frustration with the federal government's handling of illegal immigration. Many people on various sides of the issue share this view. An estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants live in the United States, according to a study by the Pew Hispanic Research Center in Washington, D.C. And efforts to reform the country's immigration laws have been mired in political debate for most of this year. Many residents in cities around the country, he said, are upset about overcrowded schools, high crime rates and other ills they attribute to illegal immigration. Passing local legislation was the logical next step, Turner said. "I believe history will show that taking it to the local level will have a profound impact on this debate," Turner said, adding that he did not anticipate how quickly the "spontaneous combustion" of copycat ordinances would crop up. Some critics of the ordinances ---- including civil rights groups ---- say that the rapid spread of Turner's idea is more knee-jerk reaction than thoughtful response to community problems. Feather in the cap So far, five cities have passed laws similar to Turner's initial proposal, including Hazleton, Pa., and two of its neighboring towns, Valley Park, Mo., and the industrial commuter town of Riverside, N.J. And nearby, Vista recently passed a law requiring individuals to register with the city before hiring day laborers. Not every city that looks at an ordinance passes one, however. Cities such as Avon Park, Fla., and Huntsville, Ala., have swatted down proposals from some council members, or simply postponed indefinitely any discussion. In many ways, Escondido could stand out among the crowd of local immigration legislation, if an ordinance passes when it comes before the council this fall. Located just 45 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, Escondido would be the first California city to adopt part of Turner's initiative. And with 133,000 residents, it would also be the largest city, and the one with the largest Latino population of any town, to follow Turner's lead. Over the last decade, Escondido's Latino population has swelled significantly, from about 16 percent in 1990 to 44.5 percent in 2005, according a recent survey by the U.S. Census, which provides annual demographic updates for cities with populations over 100,000. A recent city-sponsored survey of the Mission Park area in the city's core found that, of the 16,000 residents in the 1 1/2-square-mile area, the majority were born in other countries, especially Mexico. And 66 percent self-reported speaking primarily Spanish. Such figures are not lost on Turner, who characterized Escondido as the next big step in his vision of communities around the country writing their own, stricter immigration laws, until Congress follows their lead. "Escondido would be a huge feather in the cap," Turner said. 'Preventative maintenance' Nevertheless, Turner's initiative has already taken root in a diverse range of places. In many ways, Hazleton has led the charge. In June, it passed a broad ordinance aimed at squashing work and living opportunities for what some community members characterized as a growing population of illegal immigrants in the 31,000-resident town. The Pennsylvania city's law denies business licenses to companies that hire undocumented workers, establishes English as the town's official language and ---- similar to the proposal in Escondido ---- fines landlords up to $1,000 for renting their property to illegal immigrants. Civil rights groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union, have already filed lawsuits trying to overturn Hazleton's law. On Friday, Hazleton agreed to delay enforcing the new law while city officials draft a replacement version they said would better withstand court challenges. The initial draft of Hazleton's ordinance copied Turner's own initiative nearly word-for-word, he said. The final version was later modified somewhat, but retained the basic concepts and penalties proposed in Turner's version. The former coal-mining city's efforts paved the way for a slew of similar proposals in 10 other Pennsylvania towns, many with populations of less than 5,000, with few Latinos and even fewer residents born outside the U.S., according to 2000 U.S. Census data. Some larger cities, such as Allentown, Pa., have also started considering their own illegal immigration laws. But in corners around the country, small cities such as Arcadia, Wis., a rural town of 2,400 with a Latino population of 3 percent, have also followed step. Arcadia Mayor John Kimmel recently wrote a newspaper column promising stiff consequences for those who employ or rent to illegal immigrants. "They are not welcome here," Kimmel's article stated. And in Valley Park, which in July passed an ordinance nearly identical to Hazleton's, the mayor has described the new law to local media as "preventative maintenance" for the suburb of 6,500 residents located about a 20-mile drive from St. Louis.

Why do A LOT of people NOT from California assume the worst about it? I have noticed that people not from california always assume the dumbest things. Here are a few things I have heard in my life from people that are not from and some have never been. 1: Everybody carries a gun for protection. 2: Everybody is in a gang and will take your shoes. ( one of my favorites ) 3: Earthquakes every day 4: Everybody knows somebody famous 5: Everybody from California has been to every city, town, neighborhood and knows everybody in them all. ( my wife was one of those when we met.) 6: And now according to my mother ( she isn't from ) the tsunami that was mentioned on the news is going wipe California off the map and millions are going to die. Most common question I am asked: Have you ever met ( insert celebrity name here )?? Ever heard any of these before?
Where on the internet can I find maps that show statistics of snowfall.....? I am wanting to move from California. I would like to do my research first. I am looking for maps that would show annual snow fall. I am interested in weather, crime, and housing. I am looking for a city that may have a population around 80,000 with the old town feel. It would be nice if there were a larger town within an hours drive. I would be interested if you could suggest any other great websites that would help me narrow my search on where to move to.
How can I pull up a California map ? I am trying to find some relatives I haven't been in touch with for years, I need to see a map to remember the name of the cities, or even how to pull up phone books would help.
Where exactly is the Motel 6 Santa Fe Springs,California? According to my map,the Motel 6 Santa Fe Springs is located where the cities of Norwalk and Cerritos meet and is on the Cerritos side of Excelsior Avenue. When you call the Motel 6 Santa Fe Springs directly your phone bill will show Norwalk. Except for Carmenita Truck Center and the Jack in the Box restaurant, everything else has the address in Norwalk. I'm confused. Thank you in advance.
Questions about California? So, I have a project were I have to write about a place I would like to live. I have to include pictures also. So if you guys could link me some sites about California that have answers to the questions I'm about to ask and if that site has photos that would be great. I need atleast 1O photos, so yea. Population Density. Climate. Landmarks. Major Cities. Images such as maps, photos, and graphs that show characteristics of the region. Other interesting facts. The pictures have to be colored. Atleast one of them have to be about the population density. Atleast one of them have to be for the Major Cities and Landmarks. I would prefer sites instead of you guys just telling me because I have to cite my sources. But if you can't that's fine, I'll make up some excuse xD Lmaoo Flylo, The fun fact, was just too funny for a school assignment. So I am going to put that at the end of my project. Lmaoo, I hope I don't get in trouble xD
I am looking for an illustrated poster of San Diego and/or Southern California? To be more specific, I am looking for any illustrated posters or "map posters" that show San Diego City, San Diego County or even Southern California. I clearly remember a poster like this from the back in the late 70's or very early 80's. The poster was a map of the San Diego area drawn in a comic-book or caricature style. It might have been a radio station giveaway poster or something along those lines. I can't remember exactly as I was really young back then. I have no other information about it, but would really like to find this poster or even just know more about it so I can try to find one. I miss San Diego.
I'm going on a road trip from Kennewick, WA to San Diego, CA. What are the best places to visit on the way? So, I would be more than happy to hear as many ideas for places that I see and tour along the way. How do I find this address in Hemet California? The adress I am looking for in on the southern side of West Devonshire Avenue. The crossing intersection is the east side of North Ramona street. There are two bulidings there that are part of the same apartments. Apartment 4 on the eastern buliding is the address I'm trying to find. This is in the city of Hemet in the state of California. Other than this, I have no more info. I know where it is on a map but I cant find a map that will give me the address here. I need this to fill in a residential history for all of the places I've lived. The contacts I have for this place have all passed away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why does the post office send packages to the wrong places? I live in California and I went on Amazon and bought something from within California to be exact google maps said the city I bought it from was 44 minutes away and when I check the delivery confirmation number it said departed from origin facility California and I check it 2 days later and it says processed through and departed from Scarborough Maine. And I'm just so amazed that they messed this up. This is the second package of mine this month that they "lost" or sent to the wrong place. I want to know why. Can someone help? Are they just so stupid that they can't make it 44 minutes down the road?
I see why asians stay in California? I've personally never been to California but wondered why most Asians in the country stay there. Minority groups like blacks, hispanics, have migrated to the south or up north and I know Asians have too but not large groups like blacks and hispanics. I've lived back and forth between Texas and Florida and there's very little asians in both states. I've been looking on Google Maps through Los Angeles and I can see why they would stay there. It's some kind of Asian paradise. Theres little asian cities like Monterey Park and Rosemead that have all kinds of Japanese, Viet, Korean, and Hmong cuisines and stores all throughout the city. I know San Francisco and Los Angeles are the two cities that Asians migrated too back in the early 20th century coming from Asian countries so it feels more like home on the west coast. But I don't think that's the only reason. I think it's because most Asians are situated there and they have their own little cities and job opportunities are widely available for them. Opinions?
Catcher in the Rye: Why would Holden need to check the subway maps? Holden grew up in New York City and knew it like the back of his hand. Why would he need to keep jumping up to check the maps to see where to get off for their fencing meet (his excuse for losing the fencing foils)? How come so many professional critics miss the fact that his parents were rich (corporate attorney? private schools?) and the "institution" he was in at the end wouldn't have been a mental hospital, but a private California health spa, so often featured in movies from the '50's ("Oh, Doctor, I really think your 'treatments' are helping me!"). His breakdown was as much physical as emotional. Book club comments?
Visiting Stockton, California? My friends and I are from the Bay Area and plan on visiting Stockton. We have a road map with Stockton on it and wanna go there. What is the city like? I just know its in the central valley of California... but I haven't been to Stockton. What are the nice areas? Anything to do there?
Idea of a video game. i need your guys opinion if you would buy it.? OK so i was thinking if it would be cool to be a dog. think like a dog, run, eat etc. (It's going to be sorta like the movie cats and dogs where the dogs talk to each other but with blood, killing and violence lol) Well get this! Lets start out with the beginning. You create your dog. breed color, shape kinda like how you make a dog on Sims pets. So the story line is that you start in a quiet, nice suburban neighborhood in California, 2012. your owner is a young 25 year old business guy name Chris. He leaves the house to a business trip to San Francisco. When you notice on the news that he has been kidnapped. You leave the house to search for your owner with the help of other dogs and cats along the journey but this journey is going to take risks by having to do dangerous missions and working for businesses, from being raised in a nice neighborhood and a friendly owner to a cold, dark killing machine. OK now we talk about how the game will be. The graphics will be like red dead redemption and The engine will be like Grand Theft Auto 4. Your save points will be inside your house on the bed, in a dog house or in an alleyway dumpster. there are four different areas of the map such as the quiet neighborhood, a ghetto neighborhood, rural area and San Francisco city. the map is large. Like red dead redemption you have a honer bar and famous bar. you can decide to save people from muggers by biting them on the arm or ground tackling them and biting their face. XBOX 360 controls, A button is to sprint. B button is to Dialogue/Select/Open. X button is to jump. Y button is to Sniff/Search/Save game. RT is to bite. LT is to aim/lock on. RB is to howl (Lock on and press this will allow you to bark). LB is to whimper (Lock on and press this will allow you to Growl). BACK button is inventory. Left analog stick is to move (toggle will allow you to sit, hold to lay down and crawl) Right analog is to look (Toggle will allow you to use dog vision, creates a red glow on enemy's, blue glow on friends and white glow on normal people. Im not sure about the PS3 controls yet but you'll figure it out with the above. [Lock on controls] the controls in a fighting situation. A button to pounce at enemy. Left analog is to strafe left to right. X button to roll left. B button to roll right. Y button is to ground tackle. Right analog is to aim which human bone to bite (left arm, Right arm, leg etc.) such as if you where to bite them use the Left Analog to pull back like tug a war. [when in ground tackle] Press RT to bite face (if it is a friendly person RT is to lick/kiss). OK enough with the controls now with missions. you can work with Ally dogs and ally cats or house cats and house dogs. you can also work for the fire department, police force and more. if you eat dog food it's a normal health boost. if you eat human food (roast, fried chicken, pork etc.) it's a big health boost. Garbage food (scraps, bones, bits) give low health boost. I think this game would be epic! Its kinda a mix between Red Dead Redemption Graphics, GTA4 engine and Fallout Adventure. Give me your guys opinion! Oh yeah and i almost forgot. You'll have a happy/good bar and a bad/angry bar (kinda like a dark side light side bar). the more good and happy you are (earn by gaining respect, honer and good fame) the more friendly you'll be to people, the more good side missions and a healthier coat/fur. The more bad and angry you are (earn by hurting people for scraps of food and human food. abusing other dogs, cats. attacking the cops. loss of honer and respect but gain evil fame) the more vicious ugly beat up you'll look. the more evil you'll be to people and more evil side missions. There! it's in paragraphs now. NAME OF GAME suggestions? i was thinking The courageous breed? The way of fast transportation i was think of a transport truck where you see men loading up crates in the back of a truck. once you jump in the back of the truck they get ready to drive off. then you press where you want to go on the map. once you click on the way point on where your want to go the men drive off. that's where you have the option to skip the travel. once your at the destination you jump out the back of the truck as it drives off.
San Timeteo Canyon California wildlife? What lives in this Canyon? They are just a few miles from the Crafton hills, San Bernardino mountain ranges. Which are home to California mule deer, Black bear, mountain lion etc. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl Although this canyon is serounded by cities such as Moreno valley, Redlands, Yucaipa, Riverside, and beaumont. Would these type of species be able to survive there? Also the Canyon is home to lots of farms and a few homes here and there. But what type of interesting wildlife - plant-life lives there with the map it is in southern california, south of San Bernardino and east of riverside.
Question for gay California college students.? My friend And I are planning to move to California next year to attend college and work. We want to escape the small, rural, and narrow minded attitude of Tennessee. We both have plenty of money saved up, but can't decide on northern or Southern California. I Don't necessarily want to live directly in an expensive city, but would very much like to live in a smaller, outlying town within no more than about an hour and a half of driving distance to one. So PLEASE, tell me of your experiences and encounters in the state. Would you recommend Sacramento, Or San Bernardino? How about Riverside County? These are all places that are affordable, but close to big cities, such as LA or San Francisco. However, I pulled up an interactive map on the LA times website that showed a breakdown of how prop 8 folded out. Some counties like Sacramento passed it slimly, as did LA, but I have also heard that you can't go by that simply because it seems like more people than the polls show actually support gays. Can you comment on this? What are pro's and con's to each recommended city? I understand that there will be mean people everywhere in life, but in terms of the majority we want to feel welcome and accepted. (Something we just aren't used to.) Also, When looking for a college, I think the CSU system is a good option for me because of the price. Which CSU school, in your opinion, has a sizable gay population and is located in a friendly area? Thank you so much!!

Garmin Nuvi 660 only offers addresses in California? My Nuvi 660 only offers California addresses when I want to enter an address to drive to. I can enter a city name in any state, and can pick an out of state spot on the map, but when I do the following Where To>>Adderess, I am ONLY offered "California" and "County" as choices (COUNTY, not COUNTRY). How do I make it offer me all states/counties in north america? I have checked, and I do have the north america detail map loaded When I do the following: Were To>>Address, the screen shows me two options: "California," and "Spell County." If I click on "California," I'm then asked "In which city is the address?" I'm given no option to choose another state. Suggestions?

Do live in Tennessee, California, Colorado, Arizona or Hawaii? My future husband and have been discussing at length for some time where we are going to permanently live [[settle down, buy a house and start a family]]. I am asking this question for the purposes of trying to reach out to some people that live in our potential choices to see if you can describe what it is like to live there. We have narrowed our choices down to the following: Upstate New York (Albany Area) Reno, Nevada Knoxville, Tennessee Colorado Western Arizona Central California Hawaii Currently, we are living in upstate New York near Albany, where he is originally from. I was born in California and raised in Reno, Nevada. My boyfriend and I are both pretty familiar with California as I have relatives in the bay area and he previously had a job where he was stationed in Salinas, CA (when I met him three 1/2 years ago). I am a paralegal and he is a mechanic, but currently in the process of trying to upgrade his career to something related that is more sophisticated than typical wrench-turning. Our price range for at least a 3 bed/2bath with garage home is $85,000 to $139,000 (max). Having land would be favorable, but not mandatory. We also don't want to live in a big city... we are specifically looking for a smaller town suburbs-type location. NEW YORK: We must consider where we live now in NY because I have a really good job here. But the houses we like are out of our price range, we are not fans of the harsh winters, and we aren't exactly on good terms with his family. Essentially, the only thing keeping me here is my job. NEVADA: We have Reno on the table just because it is close to my family. Both of my parents are likely to be retired when we have kids and, as the only child, something tells me that free babysitting would be involved. The real estate has dropped substantially in the housing crisis and therefore it is affordable to us now. But the schools are not exactly great, and I don't miss the dessert. TENNESSEE: We favor the idea of the idea of a quiet southern lifestyle as opposed to the busy, non-stop NY. I like the idea of raising my kids in a little country suburb. The real estate there seems to be very affordable to us (with low taxes too!), but I am not sure how much less we would be earning there in comparison to our NY salaries. I hear good things about the schools in TN. We are actually taking a road trip down to Knoxville in the middle of March to check it out. Mild winters appeal to us and we like warm... but humidity, not so much. COLORADO: Right after I write about how I like warm weather, I throw Colorado on the map. For some reason, Colorado has always called to me. I think it is absolutely beautiful and I like snowboarding. It's also a pretty short flight from Reno. But, like New York, I'm afraid it may be too expensive for us - not that I would expect to live in Aspen - but I'm not sure which areas are reasonable and which are not. So I'm really hoping for input from Colorado folks! ARIZONA: My dad is retired lives in Lake Havasu and loves the heck out of it, and also says it's affordable. I can deal with the "dry heat" no problem... but I'm not sure about 120*. Other than that, we don't know much about it. CALIFORNIA: We like California because it is pretty and close to my family. But like New York, I'm not sure if we could afford the lifestyle that we want. We would essentially need to find a "sweet spot" in a small town somewhere that we could find jobs and have a house in the same 50 mile radius. Bay area is completely out of the question. HAWAII: It actually came up as a joke when we were going through the list of the states and crossing them off... "Hey, let's live in Hawaii, I wish!!" And then he was like, "Actually, yeah. We could do Hawaii," and so it is now on the table as an option. We've both been there on vacation MANY years ago and were nothing short of amazed. I mean, paradise, surfing, nice weather... how can we go wrong? But I'm not sure how the job market is for our occupations and how they would pay, in addition to the housing. I would love to hear from someone who lives here - if anything to just find a con! We are of course doing as much of our own extensive research with regard to real estate, schools, crime rates and jobs on our own, and I realize that at the end of the day it's up to us. BUT, again, the purpose of my question is to get a taste from some locals to tell me stuff about living there that I can't find online. You're helpful input herein is greatly appreciated!
current UFO sighting for South Californians? Well its May 6, 2010 and I am seeing what I believe is a UFO sighting. It has appeared several nights in a row and varies getting brighter or smaller (when being viewed on same night). I understand some may say that it has to do with the weather and such but I have viewed it with binoculars and it appears to have four lights and a little red one on the side. That is all I see so there is a possibility there is more or less. It is not a plane or other aircraft from here and it stays in the same spot but from hour disappears. If you don't believe it then please don't shun this info down but I just wanted to get this out there. If you want to keep an eye out for this shinning object, preferably with a telescope because I don't own one, I first saw it around 8:00 P.M. Living in South California, in the city Alhambra, look Northwest. So try looking North, towards where you would find the state of Washington on a map or literally would inevitably end up in Washington if you traveled forward for a really long time. I know not everyone lives near this area and if you Google Earth 2120 West Main Street, Alhambra, CA 91803; it should be west of that area (by the view you get on Google Earth). This has taken me a while to write because I keep getting distracted by someone who was viewing it with me. I just went outside and it's gone. Completely gone in the sense that there is no shinning object nearby the place where seen. Seen: around 8 P.M. Disappearance: 9:27 P.M. This doesn't mean it wasn't there longer or it moved further North. hopeful comments It is not Venus, because Venus does not have dots on it and a red light.
How do Republicans expect to pay for things? They demonize taxes. They call them Commie, Socialist, Fascist, Hitler, Evil-doer and every other name in the book they will never comprehend. Chancellor Palin recently called for an end to corporate tax. Since Republicans call to end income, sales, corporate, and other excise tax.... how, exactly, do they expect to pay for things? They can't complain that their children can't find Madagascar on a map if they don't pay their teachers. They can't write their Assemblymen or Congressmen and complain about dirty streets if they don't want to pay for clean-up. They can't complain about the early release of prisoners if they're not willing to pay to maintain prisons. They can't complain in my local Long Beach, California of the city council measure to allow homeless people to sleep in their cars if they're not willing to pay for social programs and homeless shelters. So, what's the deal? I really must be so stupid that I'm missing something. What am I missing? What is their missing piece? What is the age-old question to the alternative of tax? So, let me get this straight... for all you out there who are anti-tax, you're children are in private school? Blackwater protects you? Your cars are unregistered? You conduct a monthly beach clean-up? You maintain prisons in your backyard? You are anti-war? Anti-humanitarian? Anti-Katrina relief? The answer is there is no reasonable alternative. Thanks. Joe S, although I don't agree, I must say that that comment was one of the most intelligent I've heard in a debate all day. Greg J, The day I was born I was a registered Orange County Republican. I grew up, travelled the world and country and discovered that liberalism is the only way that America will actually go anywhere. So, been there, done that. Thanks Joe, First, I don't have to agree with you, so that debunks your tangent. Second, most of your questions or concerns can, in some way, be answered by my original question. Further, private citizens may have a compelling interest to fund good quality of life, but it's not something they will volunteer to do. Americans have a long history with the "let someone else take care of it" mentality. We're taxed for the good of our nation and for the preservation of exceptional quality of life. Personally I believe in mandatory insurance. Healthy people keep costs low for everyone, simply put. It is also in our interest as a people to be healthy. Going out on a limb, I think we should be entitled to live in a healthy and clean society.
In California, is it legal to obtain blueprints of a bldg you don't own, and if so, where can you get them? I'm heading up a tabletop RPG campaign - a semi-post-apocalyptic zombie attack scenario - and I was hoping to get a hold of some blueprints of a large local building or two for reference purposes, partly to have a mapped out stronghold for my players to set themselves out in, and partly to be able to plan a series of events in a specific building, but I have no clue if I can even get access to building blueprints - and if so, how to go about it. First of all, is it legal in California to have or request building blueprints of a building you don't own if you're not a contractor or construction worker of some sort? Second of all, who would I ask to see the blueprints - building owners, the contractors who worked on the building, city hall, or whoever else (provided it's legal)? If anyone cares to know, I'm using the World of Darkness game, with the zombies setup from the Antagonists tertiary book. So for those of you heckling me, I would like legit blueprints SOLELY for the use in my tabletop campaign, not for any other reason :P
US Travelers: What's the best place to stop overnight between California and Washington DC ? ? Hi I will be coming to America in February - arriving mid morning in either Los Angeles or San Francisco, (not sure which airport yet). My final destination is Washington, DC. Due to the difference in time zones, my options are very limited - the flights in to DC either arrive quite late in the evening (just before midnight), or else very early in the morning. I would prefer to arrive between noon and five pm. I really don't want to spend the early hours of the morning in an airport. I thought I could remedy this problem by flying in a day earlier, and then stopping over midway across the country. I could just book a room, spend the night, and then fly out to DC the next morning. This would probably help me get over my jet lag, too. Here's where I could use some suggestions - what would be the best city in which to stopover? I looked on the map for somewhere about halfway across; a workmate suggested Chicago, but I thought it would be too cold, or maybe even snowing there, in February. My neighbours suggested Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta as possibilities. However, none of them could provide any first-hand information. I'd appreciate suggestions as to what city to overnight in, as well as recommendations for inexpensive accommodations - because I am on a limited budget. I can't afford the Hilton, but I don't want to stay in a backpackers. Just a quiet and safe, yet inexpensive place to get cleaned up and rested - and preferably a motel with a free shuttle to the airport. Thanks in advance for your help! I know there are many people out there in the know, who will share their travel expertise... As far as the stopover - again this is just for clean up and sleeping - not for shopping or sightseeing. I've been to Las Vegas once, and aside from the neon, it doesn't really interest me. I'm a student so I don't have any $ for gambling or shows. I'm just mainly looking for a safe quiet place to have a shower and a rest before I head on to the East Coast. About the Chicago stopover - I've been watching the weather reports-brr! Will the ice and cold would be over by February? Or am I fooling myself? Both of my airlines options (ANZ or Qantas and their alliences) offer multi-stop trips, and also give discounts on hotels, Trying to find the right one with an airport shuttle, and without cockroaches will be the tricky bit. Looking at Dallas-Fort Worth or Houston as southern options, and Chicago or Indianapolis as northern options. BTW, I can flu directly into DCA, which is only about 12 Km from where I need to be. Any ideas on safe clean places to stopover? Thanks =)
California Highway Patrol gave me a ticket in South Sac...? So here's my case and if you know what you're talking about please tell me if its worth fighting: I live in Elk Grove which is the capital of U-Turns - you have to make one to get anywhere. I went to S. Sac to a store and map quest gave me directions and told me to make a u-turn at the light of the cross street. (clearly i understand mapquest is not an authority on traffic laws) So i made the U-turn, meanwhile people were making free right hand turns which i commented to my husband that the driver looked right at me and didnt slow down... I was pulled over in the parking lot of the store and told it was posted no u-turn. At that point i looked at the sign and sure enough - it had a left turn sign over the signal and beneath it - it said no u-turn. Im not an idiot and do realize i was wrong. But just like everyone else im not into donating my money to the city for citations. So my question is - will a judge have mercy on me? Economic times are tough on us as well as them so im guessing no. Anyway, anyone have any advice on this?
I am new to California, L.A, I need serious help!? Hi all! My name is Dee and I am a 22 yrs old female from Kuwait. I'll be leaving my country for good to the states soon Dec 0'9 and I have been facing difficulties in finding an area to stay in the states. I will be going to L.A Mission College in Sylmar and I have been told that there is no life there and I wouldn't enjoy living in Sylmar as an international student. I have also been told that the San Fernando Valley is not a good place to stay in bc of it's bad reputation plus there is nothing much to do there and it's boring. Some of my friends suggested Santa Monica, and some said that it is way far to get to Sylmar. My friend goes to LAMC (L.A mission college) and he lives in Santa Monica, he says that it takes him 40 - 60 mins to get to the college if there is no traffic! I have 4 requests please : 1 - Is there any site that could help me to find the best places around Sylmar to live in and does it also help in saying how far those places are from Sylmar? 2 - Any recommendations? Somewhere fun, nightlife, restaurants, malls, cool people, great lifestyle and good weather that is around Sylmar and not far also from Santa Monica as I've been told it's a great place to stay in? Maybe West Hollywood? Studio City? Burbank? Ok don't laugh at me, but I need serious help I am so lost!! 3 - How far is Santa Monica from Downtown L.A? uh! I know nothing about CA, wish I had someone waiting for me there to take me to a mini tour. 4 - Where can I find the celebrities? which restaurants? malls? areas? spots? This is my college website if you're wondering where it is.. www.lamission.edu/international Google map helped me a bit but still I do not know the real life there, I can't tell how far those places are from Sylmar.. and are they cool places to live in or just boring !? FYI, I have my own car so no pub transportation and no motorbike, lol! In case you are wondering. Guys and girls, again I need serious help so if you are willing to do so please send me a message here so that I could reply you and we can exchange informations. Thanks for passing by! Dee
My dad doesn't think working with SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America) is a good thing when i grow up I'm 13 and thought about working with Sony, so this morning, i sent my dad an email while he was at work about printing some maps of California for me so i can see how far Los Angeles is from Foster City, then i sent an email saying never mind because i might just move to Foster City since it was some nice houses there, and i also sent him an email of what position that interests me, and when he got home later in the afternoon, i really sounded like he didn't want me to work for SCEA or there's something better which there might be but i'll find out later on in the future, he said that i should make my own Game Company, all though that would be a good thing to do, but i don't want to do that, i mean, running a Game Company? that is TOO MUCH! i really want to work for SCEA, my mom thought it was a good idea, but he disagreed when he got home after i told my mom earlier. This is sad, what would you do? PLEASE HELP! i really wanted to do this

Woman sues Google over directions claiming it supplied unsafe directions? A pedestrian injured by a motorist while following an online route has filed a lawsuit claiming Google supplied unsafe directions. Lauren Rosenbe used her phone in January to download directions from one end of Park City to the other. Google Maps led her to a four-lane street without footpaths that was "not reasonably safe for pedestrians," according to the lawsuit filed by the California resident. The case has become a sensation on tech blogs, websites and cable television channels, with critics assailing the woman for ignoring her own safety to blindly follow online directions. Does she have a case or will Google settle outside of court providing her with directions on how to kiss their @ss? http://news.uk.msn.com/odd-news/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=153619016

Absolut vodka pulls ad showing California in Mexico Mon Apr 7, 9:36 PM ET The distillers of Sweden's Absolut vodka have withdrawn an advertisement run in Mexico that angered many U.S. citizens by idealizing an early 19th century map showing chunks of the United States as Mexican. The billboard ad has the slogan "In an Absolut World" slapped over a pre-1848 map showing California, Arizona and other U.S. states as Mexican territory. Those states were carved out of what had been Mexican lands until that year. Although it was not shown in the United States, U.S. media outlets picked up on the ad, and after a barrage of complaints, Absolut's maker said on Sunday the ad campaign would cease. Defending the campaign last week, Absolut maker Vin & Spirit said the ad was created "with a Mexican sensibility" and was not meant for the U.S. market. "In no way was this meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues," a spokeswoman wrote on Absolut's Web site. "Instead, it hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal," she wrote. Absolut's blog cite has received more than a thousand comments since the ad campaign was launched a few weeks ago, with many calling for boycotts of the Swedish company. "I have poured the remainder of my Absolut bottles down the sink," one blogger wrote. A war between Mexico and the United States from 1846 to 1848 started with Mexico's refusal to recognize the U.S. annexation of Texas and ended with the occupation of Mexico City by U.S. troops. At the end, Mexico ceded nearly half of its territory to the United States, forming the states of California, Nevada, Utah and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming. Mexicans remain sensitive about the loss and the location of the border. At the same time, the United States is fortifying barriers to keep out undocumented Mexican migrants. Some Mexicans use the term "Reconquista" (reconquest) to refer to the growing presence in California of Mexican migrants and their descendants. France's Pernod Ricard is taking over Absolut vodka, one of the world's top-selling spirit brands, after buying Vin & Spirit from the Swedish government at the end of March.

If someone has been able to get directions from Mapquest could you paste them in your answer -- I could only get directions for travel within the US or within Europe on Mapquest. If it is not possible could you tell me two neighboring countries that you cannot drive between -- from a regular map (not a roadmap) it looks like it should be possible.

You're not gonna find this information anywhere else. You'll find some really important information here as well.I try to speak logically and with reason and I expect logical answers without any prejudice. I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained everything.Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong. **** Hi. I'm a 19 Iranian who has spent his life in Iran.I study English. When I chat with people from other countries, I am shocked to see how totally wrong their ideas are about Iran. I wrote this article in an attempt to help correct those ideas. The first thing America, and the West in general, accuses our government of is that we don't allow personal freedoms. Actually, Iranians disobey laws they don't like as much as anyone. There are only a few restrictions. It's cool over here. People here do whatever they wish to! Many strict rules in other countries don't even exist in Iran. Also, you should understand that what may seem so normal to you, may be a nightmare for us and vise versa. Some of Iran's laws are based on OUR culture. You look at our country from "your own point of view"! In Iran every single house has a sattelite dish. Sattelite television has a serious influence on our people, and Iranians wear very fashionable clothing. Maybe it is a kind of imitation, but we still have our own unique Iranian style. A visitor might wonder if this is a country or a fantasy pageant of beauty queens! Almost women wear half their their hair out, and make-up and fashionable clothing are everywhere.I ignore a few fuddy-duddies though! You would be surprised to see the difference between what you imagine and what Iran really is! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, inflation and air pollution. Also, you can't compare Iran today with the Iran you remember. The Shah and the Iatollah Khomini are both some 30 years in the past! 70% of Iran's population is a new generation (Under age 30) without the biases of the past and we've transformed everything. Ever heard Iranian girls are terrific?I've collected some photos showing Iranian girls! Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Enough proof? Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: They get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because they can do so many of them better than men. They've got Islamic rights, and that has in some cases made it difficult for men to marry them, because husbands are supposed to buy them expensive things and treat them very well, otherwise women have the right to ask a great amount of money (called Mehr) according to the law, which most husbands cannot afford, so men will be imprisoned. The only thing that women are not allowed to do in Iran is getting into public football stadiums and that's because such places are full of cheeky guys. They do anything from taking part in rallies to singing pop songs.Anything! I've put a sample here. Another funny thing: Your footage about stoning the women who have committed adultery. Have you ever asked yourselves how many years ago that footage related to? Are they balck and white or colourful? But in one case (related to many years ago) the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages are from Afghanistan which was ruled by freaks (Taliban). What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they were/are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too. Each country has its own problems. Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan are --------- SEPERATE COUNTRIES! --------- Even within Iran, 60% of us are Persian and 30% are Turkish! Iran is a normal country like any other in the world. The Media are very good at creating really scary stuff: "IRAN BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS!!!" "IRAN UNDERCOVER!!!" Some of that garbage would be enough to scare ME away! But in truth, Iranians are far more open-minded than you have been led to believe. There are lots of Iranians today who are geniuses and scientists, and are all under age 25. For instance a 17 year old boy has invented 72 amazing inventions. Every year a special scientific compeition is held here and students assemble to show off hundreds of inventions. Iranian students and sportsmen win gold and silver medals in different competitions in the world all the time, in robotics, biology, maths, physics, sports, anything! Why don't the Media talk about them? Please don't summarize our nation and culture with the single word "nuclear". Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed.Did you know that the countries having the highest number of scientists in the world are in this order? 1-India 2-Korea 3-Iran A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. I searched for news of that on the internet, but there was no single sign of it.Now, I found it among the English news: "The medicine is produced from herbs using nano technology" The link to read about it is: http://www.payvand.com/news/07/feb/1032.html The Media are unjust. They never talk about facts! Some interesting facts: Iran is a pioneer in medicine and genetics, and Iranian surgeons have found lots of new methods for treating spinal defects, and many diseases (mainly the treatment for different types of cancer) and the best brain and heart surgeons are Iranian. The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. One of the best designers of sports cars working in Germany is Iranian. Some of the best 3D animators are Iranian. Iran is one of the best countries in counter-engineering. Holds the second place in building dams and in loads of other things! It's one of the top countries in bio-technology and nano-technology. The 4th highest tower in the world (Milad tower) is in Tehran (visit it at this link from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Milad.jpg ). 51 of the top 100 universities in the Mid-East are in Iran, and they're among the top universities of the world as well. The champion weight-lifter, a woman the nobel peace prize are Iranian. The 6th top movie director in the world is Iranian.(Abbas Kiarostami) http://arts.guardian.co.uk/fridayreview/story/0,12102,1084266,00.html Iranian Director's Film Wins Spanish Festival Top Prize - VOA News (September 25, 2004) These are just small samples.I can't put every news about Iran here. Then you should visit press TV website. Iranian girls are famous for being terrific. We have Persian rugs and Persian literature, many Persian poets, artists and scientists that are world famous. Iranian culture is now westernized and only a little of the ancient culture has survived. According to statistics Tehran is the cheapest capital city in the world (one Dollar =about 950 Tomans! For example you can buy windows vista for 1 Dollar here instead of 700 Dollars!!!wow!) There are many other things. How many pages would you need to describe a country? Iran has nearly all the industries and technologies found in 'developed' countries. Oh, and we have four seasons! We get a lot of snow and there are skating rinks! lol The list is endless. I'm gonna introduce Iran's international news website to you (Press TV) which was established recently. It's fully in English. In the "Sic / Tech" section you'll always see Iran's discoveries. The address is: http://www.presstv.ir/news.aspx Press TV news: Iranian scientists have registered more than 4800 inventions during the last Iranian calendar year of 1385 (April 21 2006-April 20, 2007). 4800 inventions in just one year! The list of highly-respected Iranian scientists in the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Iranian_scientists_and_engineers#T The list of notable Iranian figures and pioneers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_Medicine_in_Iran An extract: Iranian medical community is a significant part of medical community in US and Europe Enough evidence? Some people think Iran is a desert! Well, it is, if you consider California a desert. We share the same latitude. Iran is a modern country with breathtakingly beautiful nature and lots of historic places to visit. Please take a look at the following links to see if Iran looks like what you think or not! This is a photo of Tehran (Awesome, Isn't it?): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/Tehran-2-1600.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran If you like you can visit these too, hundreds of pretty photos from the cities, nature and historic places: (It's like a free tour!) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hills_south_west_of_Sanandaj_near_the_village_of_Kilaneh.jpg http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=all http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=2 http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com:80/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=4 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran Some people think music is forbidden in Iran. "Music of Iran and Iranian musicians have received countless awards in the course of history. Every year from 1977 to 2007.Evidence? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Iran I send Iranian music to my American and Canadian chat friends and they all say they're some of the best songs they've ever heard. Here's a sample of the latest hits from two official Iranian music websites. You can just right click on the links below and choose "Save Target As" to download them.I guess you'll fall for it! It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts, riding camels! Let's clarify some political issues as well: Some of the Americans think that president Ahmadinejad hates the U.S and Israel and wants to nuke them!! The Media are good at putting lying comments out there. I really don't get the point why our politicians defame themselves by talking about things that have got nothing to do with us. The thing is that they occasionally make some statements that the media would make them controversial topics to interest its viewers! For example they pick up some specific phrases of a long speech (without refering to the main points and reasons for that speech) and put so many bad comments on that. First of all, Iranians don't hate anyone. If our government complains about some injustice going on in the world, it's not bad, is it? (Although what we want from them is to shut up and not get us into trouble by talking about things that are none of our concern) We hate neither Jews nor Americans. How would our guys dream of America, want to be like them as much as possible, and hate them at the same time?! SECRET: Iranians are the only people in the Mid-East that are pro-American! Being agaisnt the U.S policies is a different story!I've got to say that for Iran, Israel is not equal with Jews! Israel is a gov't. Jews are faithful people! A few of them live here in our neighbourhood and they live just like the rest of Iranians. (20,000 Jews and lots of Christians live here! Iran's different!) And two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Who says we want to force others to convert to Islam? Have you ever found a Muslim knocking at your door asking you to do so? Christians and Jews are both God-believers and respectful to us. In Iran, religion is one of the least important factors. Where you come from and what your religion is are not important to us at all. I wonder who Iran is really a threat to. Is it logical to say someone's guilty because we THINK / PREDICT that he's going to do something wrong? And they repeat the same "nuclear weapons" tosh over and over and brainwash people! Correction! It's "nuclear energy". Besides, how many "nuclear weapons" do they have themselves? Hundreds of thousands? Has Iran ever attacked any countries? No. Has it developed any nukes? No! That's what nuclear agency says. Only Iran's opponents are pulling Iran's leg and what they say is just based on political conflicts. What we're doing is legal. Iran is a peaceful country. Why? It's the regional super-power and if she wanted, she could easily invade the countries in our neibourhood just like what Saddam did to our country, but as you see Iran has peaceful relations with all of them. Some people say he said: Israel should be wiped off the map! the thing is that he exactly said: "The Imam "Khomeyni" said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."They've only told you this phrase not the whole thing and it's mistranslated intentionally. Besides, they've been saying such things for a long time. It's their habit. Here's an article."Wiped off the map....The roumor of the century.Read how the media and the U.S newspapers have twisted it into a controvertioal topic. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/norouzi.php?articleid=11025 Now you see that you were wrong.Iran has always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. Some say he's said: "The Holocaust is a myth!" Again, this is a single phrase taken from a long speech and there are totally logical reasons for saying so. If 6,000,000 Jews were killed, that's terrible, but 300,000 Shiite Moslems killed by Saddam aren't important at all? Over 650,000 Iraqi people are killed and that's not important?! When Fox News simply says that America and Israel are capable of destroying and killing Iran's population of 69,000,000 within two weeks, it's OK and no one says they're threatening other countries to nuke them (I saw this with my own eyes on the Fox News website) Millions of people killed in Afghanistan, Hiroshima & Nagasaki and the Vietnam war are not considered human beings at all! Now I think you'd get the point why he's IRONICALLY said it's a myth. Moreover, don't you believe in freedom of speech/mind? I'd judge people by their ACTIONS rather than by what they say / their religion / race / culture and the colour of their skin! Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! 2. The new generation don't say such things and if some of them occasionally march in the streets that's because some of the stupid guys enjoy making noise and they mainly go out there to meet their girlfriends/boyfriends! Strange. Isn't it? 3. Such mottos are not just said in Iran and as you know whatever you hear is a response to the U.S govt's terrible actions which has made life for many people hell (You wouldn't deny that attacking countries is a mistake. Would you?) 4. The U.S gov't helped Saddam attack Iran and I hope you know which country gave Iraq biological weapons which killed a million Iranians. 5. America hit an Iranian airplane over the Persian Gulf and killed 200 passengers for no reason. 6. America places sanctions on Iran, promotes a false image of Iran and Iranians, scares tourists away, and harms our economy, development and credit. To what purpose? When you call Ahmadinejad a nutcase for what he's said, what do you call Bush for his actions? If you open your eyes, it's c;ear who is dangerous.I mean it's a good idea to consider what Bush is doing to the world with his wrong decisions and lies. Bush is powerful and influencial, but Ahmadinejad is nothing. He's even failed to control the inflation. To those who are upset with American hostages taken for 444 days: 1. Firstly, It's related to so many years ago and it's almost a part of history, and don't forget that when there's a revolution, there'd be chaos and people may do things that they should not, moreover they're all alive and healthy. Aren't they? 2.The U.S has arrested Iranian diplomats in Iraq and had tortured the one who was freed. Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. How do you believe in their lies about politics when they hide both the most and the least important things from you considering the fact that politics is the world of lies in its nature?!!! Final word: "Don't accuse Iran of something it hasn't done.Neither has it developed nukes nor does it want to invade anywhere.Currently, the world sees who is ivading other countries. One needs to clean his own closet before thinking about cleaning others'.Agree?" If you're too stubborn to stick to your groundless theory of attacking Israel, I'll tell you our logical theory: "The moment that Iran attacks Israel, Iran will be wiped off the face of the earth by the U.S and its allies.(Thought this twisted phrase is familiar to you) and Iran is far more logic than doing such a stupid thing" I'm quite sure you know that all the events and lies in the world are a part of a pre-planned scenario by major world-powers (Iran as an important country has always been a part of their plans)And the first step is to brainwash people. They excactly know what will happen even 50 years later! I think Iraq is such a good example.Attacking it with the excuse of removing Seddam while they'd put Seddam there themselves and had supported him for years! The same is true with Al Qaida if you do some research! But in this particular case Iran and the U.S were co-operating in fighting the terrorists in Afghanistan. One more thing: When we think of the U.S, we think of its greatness and its countless "positive points" not its president. When you think of other countries, you think of their presidents or a nation as a whole?! No gov't in the world is representative for its people.Try to judge everyone righteously not just by a few things that you find as "negative points". Isn't it better for both countries to forget past conflicts and to have peaceful relations? Our two gov'ts are like 10 year old children playing a stupid, harsh, rhetorical game. They don't care about hurting people's feelings. They just try to make our two peoples enemies to achieve their own goals. We, as the people of these countries, MUST NOT allow these conflics into our hearts. Now, what do you think? You'll have elections soon and we'll have one in 2009.You just vote for a Democrate and we'll find someone who'd get along with the U.S (Our former pres is a nice bet).Deal? No matter how much they hide this fact, but if Iran and the U.S co-operate with each other, not only the Mid-East crises will be solved but also it'll have a great positive impact on the world.I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Thanks for your time
Is land along Interstate 80 near San Francisco and Sacramento California protected somehow? Specifically when I was driving by it I wondered why the heck no one has built houses on it. I see a few cows grazing on the land. It can't make sense financially for those who own the land to do that unless it was somehow protected, I would think. It is so close to San Francisco, Sacremento, and other populous cities. According to Google Maps its at 38.170194,-122.180586 and Here is a link to what I am referring to on Google Maps http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&saddr=&daddr=38.170194,-122.180586&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=14&sll=38.169789,-122.17844&sspn=0.030365,0.052872&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=14
California fires, need to know? I have some friends in California who stopped answering my emails yesterday and I'd like to know, exactly if possible, what areas or counties and cities, have been affected, they live in malibu, I think near the beach, and in Santa Monica. I'm checking where the others live. I'd really apreciatte if someone sent complete info or a link to a map which describes the areas affected, since I'm from Mexico I'm not familiar with the area. My friends are American btw. Thanks. Ok, one just replied and he;s ok, but the rest haven;t yet.

Why don't the Media talk about them? Please don't summarize our nation and culture with the single word "nuclear". Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed. A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts and riding camels! Part 2: Political info. We hate neither Jews nor Americans. How would our guys dream of America, want to be like them as much as possible, and hate them at the same time?! The truth us that Iranians are the only people in the Mid-East that are pro-American! Being agaisnt the U.S policies is a different story! We live basically the same lives.Don't look at the way women dress in public places! You've got to see them in other places!I've got to say that for Iran, Israel is not equal with Jews! Israel is a gov't. Jews are faithful people! 20,000 Jews and lots of Christians live here equally with Iranians and two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Who says we want to force others to convert to Islam? Have you ever found a Moslem knocking at your door asking you to do so? Christians and Jews are both God-believers and respectful to us. Well, if you'd like to blame someone for that, hope in a time-machine and sue Hitler! lol Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! Also, I see a lot of "Let's nuke Iran"s on YA.Isn't that a kind of "Death to Iran"? U.S. companies assistance in developing Iraq's chemical weapons facilities during the Iran-Iraq war which killed over a million Iranians 5. USS Vincennes shooting down Iran Air Flight 655 with many civilian fatalities 6.U.S. Support for anti-Iranian terrorist organisations (i.e. the MKO); 7. Economic damage caused by U.S. sanctions and political pressure; U.S. UAV overflights over Iran violating Iranian airspace since 2003. When you call Ahmadinejad a nutcase for what he's said, what do you call Bush for his war crimes? To those who are upset with American hostages taken for 444 days: 1. Firstly, It's related to so many years ago and it's almost a part of history, and don't forget that when there's a revolution, there'd be chaos and people may do things that they should not, moreover they're all alive and healthy. Aren't they? 2.The U.S has arrested Iranian diplomats in Iraq and had tortured the one who was freed. Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. How do you believe in their lies about politics when they hide both the most and the least important things from you considering the fact that politics is the world of lies in its nature?!!! If you like to insist on your theory of attacking Israel, I'll tell you our logical theory: "The moment that Iran attacks Israel, Iran will be wiped off the face of the earth by the U.S and its allies and Iran is far more logical than doing such a stupid thing" So, forget about it.I'm quite sure you know that all the events and lies in the world are a part of a pre-planned scenario by major world-powers (Iran as an important country has always been a part of their plans)And the first step is to brainwash people. They excactly know what will happen even 50 years later! I think Iraq is such a good example.Attacking it with the excuse of removing Saddam while they'd put Saddam there themselves and had supported him for years! They said they had W.M.Ds and you believed them. Now they say Iran (a member of N.P.T) has nukes / is developing nukes and you believe them wilhe the nuclear agency hasn't found any sign of illegal activities.Time to wake up! I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time to the second answerer: Excellant.I guess your answer will be the best, but I'm waiting. To pantaguros: You're right. Thanks for your understanding.BTW, We Iranians are Persian and Turkish not Arab! We have nothing in common with Arabs.I mean it! Not to say they're not nice people. They are, but they're totally different from us.Totally!

What will you think about Iran after learning some of the facts about it? I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained everything.Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong.Specially the political part.I've provided evidence for whatever I say. It's just the way it is. **** Part 1: Cultural and general info Hi. I'm a 19 year old Iranian who has spent his life in Iran.I study English. When I chat with people from other countries, I am shocked to see how totally wrong their ideas are about Iran. I wrote this article in an attempt to help correct those ideas. The first thing the West accuses our government of is that we don't allow personal freedoms. In Iran most houses have a sattelite dish. Sattelite television has a serious influence on our people, and Iranians wear very fashionable clothing. Maybe it is a kind of imitation, but we still have our own unique Iranian style. A visitor might wonder if this is a country or a fantasy pageant of beauty queens! Make-up and fashionable clothing are everywhere.I ignore a few fuddy-duddies though! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, drugs, inflation and air pollution. Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Is that enough?! Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: Most of them get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because of their high university degrees. But in one case the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages relate to the early days just after Iran's revolution! Otherwise you'd get new footages at least once a month! What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too.I found a BOOK of the U.S problems and it got me dizzy! Iran has its own problems too. Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed. A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. The pioneer in heart transplants and artificiall hearts and so on and so! (I've put two websites below) The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. The 6th top movie director in the world is Iranian.(Abbas Kiarostami) http://arts.guardian.co.uk/fridayreview/story/0,12102,1084266,00.html These are just small samples. If the media told you about Iran's achievemens everyday and didn't hide them, your news would be full of Iranian news!Iranian girls are famous for being terrific. We have Persian rugs and Persian literature, many Persian poets, artists and scientists that are world famous. Iranian culture is now westernized and only a little of the ancient culture has survived. According to statistics Tehran is the cheapest capital city in the world (one Dollar =about 950 Tomans) There are many other things. The list of highly-respected Iranian scientists and engineers in the world: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Iranian_scientists_and_engineers#T The list of notable Iranian figures and pioneers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contemporary_Medicine_in_Iran An extract: Iranian medical community is a significant part of medical community in US and Europe Enough evidence? Some people think Iran is a desert! Well, it is, if you consider California a desert. We share the same latitude. Iran is a modern country with breathtakingly beautiful nature and lots of historic places to visit. Please take a look at the following links to see if Iran looks like what you think or not! This is a photo of Tehran (Awesome, Isn't it?): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/Tehran-2-1600.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran If you like you can visit these too, hundreds of pretty photos from the cities, nature and historic places: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hills_south_west_of_Sanandaj_near_the_village_of_Kilaneh.jpg http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=all http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=2 http://www.pbase.com/k_amj/throughout_iran&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com:80/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=4 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=3 http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199709&page=13 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran Some people think music is forbidden in Iran. Iranian music is just modern pop and the best sort of it. 1.(You know this: 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Top33/128/Neorin%20-%20To%20Ino%20Miduni.mp3 2.(Hold my hand: 2007) http://www.sarzaminmp3.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Mansour%20-%20Beautiful/09_%20Dastamo%20Begir.mp3 3.(The wetness of your eyes: 2006) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Top33/128/Ehsan%20Gheibi%20-%20Khisie%20Cheshmat.mp3 4.(I just want you: 2003) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Mansour/Crazy/Delam%20Faghat%20Toro%20Mikhaad(www.Bia2Music.com).MP3 5.(The rain: 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/64/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise%20-%2005%20Baroon%20(www.Bia2Music.com).wma 6.(The window: 2005) http://www.sarzamin.org/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/03_%20Panjereh.mp3 7.(Keep me in your memory: 2005) http://www.sarzamin.org/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/07_%20Yaade%20Man%20Baash.mp3 8.(Farangis "A female name" 2007) http://download.bia2music.com/Music/Irani/Siavash%20Ghomayshi/Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/64/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise%20-%2001%20Farangis%20(www.Bia2Music.com).wma 9.(The distance: 2007) http://www.sarzaminsong.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/03_%20Faseleh.mp3 10.(Sunrise: 2007) http://www.sarzaminsong.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Siavash%20Ghomayshi%20-%20Sunset%20to%20Sunrise/04_%20Tolou.mp3 11.(Stop world:2006) http://www.sarzaminmusic.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Reza%20Sadeghi%20-%20Vaysa%20Donya/01_%20Vaysa%20Donya.mp3 12.(You can't: 2007) http://www.sarzaminmp3.com/Sarzaminmusic/Persian/128KB/Mansour%20-%20Beautiful/06_%20Nemitooni.mp3 And so on and on! It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts and riding camels! Part 2: Political info. Well, if you'd like to blame someone for that, hope in a time-machine and sue Hitler! lol Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! Also, I see a lot of "Let's nuke Iran"s on YA.Isn't that a kind of "Death to Iran"? U.S. companies assistance in developing Iraq's chemical weapons facilities during the Iran-Iraq war which killed over a million Iranians 5. I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time
How many people here want to know the "real" Iran not the "unreal" one portrayed on the news I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Is that enough?! Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: Most of them get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because of their high university degrees. But in one case the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages relate to the early days just after Iran's revolution! Otherwise you'd get new footages at least once a month! What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too.I found a BOOK of the U.S problems and it got me dizzy! Iran has its own problems too. Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed. A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. The pioneer in heart transplants and artificiall hearts and so on and so! (I've put two websites below) The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. We, as the people of these countries, MUST NOT allow these conflics into our hearts. Now, what do you think? I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time
What do you think of this as a whole without thinking about the details? Look! Poeple are like this! http://www.salijoon.ir/bazigar/hedye%20tehrani/30nema4251159.JPG http://www.30nema.com/images/gallery/30nema4252403.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/4clk3us.jpg http://tinypic.com/2d0nfao.jpg Is that enough?! Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran. But in my view, women are overrunning the place. They're very respectful, and they've been the winners in so many cases: Most of them get into the best universities because they're very smart. And they get the best jobs because of their high university degrees. But in one case the thing that had happened was incest not adultery. Most of those footages relate to the early days just after Iran's revolution! Otherwise you'd get new footages at least once a month! What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too.I found a BOOK of the U.S problems and it got me dizzy! Iran has its own problems too. Although we're proud of this achievement because we believe that having nuclear energy means that a country is developed. A few months ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine. I searched for news of that on the internet, but there was no single sign of it.Now, I found it among the English news: "The medicine is produced from herbs using nano technology" The link to read about it is: http://www.payvand.com/news/07/feb/1032.html The Media are unjust. Some interesting facts: Iran is a pioneer in medicine and genetics, and Iranian surgeons have found lots of new methods for treating spinal defects, and many diseases (mainly the treatment for different types of cancer) and the best brain and heart surgeons are Iranian. The pioneer in heart transplants and artificiall hearts, "artificial vessels" using nano-technology (Reported yesterday) and so on and so! (I've put two websites below) The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. One of the best designers of sports cars working in Germany is Iranian. Some of the best 3D animators are Iranian. It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts and riding camels! Part 2: Political info. Well, if you'd like to blame someone for that, hope in a time-machine and sue Hitler! lol Some countries are using Iran as a scapegoat to put the blame (for their own faults) on. This part is just for Americans: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1. 'America' to us means the U.S govt, not the people. How do you expect Iranians to mean "American people" when our media admires Americans for marching and holding up "no war" placards?! Also, I see a lot of "Let's nuke Iran"s on YA.Isn't that a kind of "Death to Iran"? U.S. companies assistance in developing Iraq's chemical weapons facilities during the Iran-Iraq war which killed over a million Iranians 5. I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous! Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time To searching please: I did answer your questions and put them in the details in the same question.I think you haven't noticed them.Check it out once more! To Lorri k: That's because my American friend helped me to proofread this through e-mail.The early version was full of grammatical mistakes. Well, yes.I know it's difficult to belive, becasue you've been told just the opposit for over 30 years! Well, you can ask those who've actually visited Iran and they'll tell you that this is all true.I don't blame you.I blame the media and those who control it.I know our media is controlled too, but at least we have many other sources of information too.For example satellite channels. That's why we're pro-American.In the old times there were no satllites, so people were unaware of things. You can use this to educate yourselves.Don't close your eyes towards the truth by simply ignoring this or insulting me.Anyways, any answers are appreciated. Edit: I know the freedom of speech in political field is so limited here, but you know something? Ordinary people are not involved in politics. Many people have good lives here.Even unemployment doesn't affect this much.Because anyone who cannot get employed, gets self-employed and self-employed people are 90% of all times so rich.Much richer than employed ones.
Will you continue to drink Absolut vodka after the latest scandal? MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The distillers of Sweden's Absolut vodka have withdrawn an advertisement run in Mexico that angered many U.S. citizens by idealizing an early 19th century map showing chunks of the United States as Mexican. The billboard ad has the slogan "In an Absolut World" slapped over a pre-1848 map showing California, Arizona and other U.S. states as Mexican territory. Those states were carved out of what had been Mexican lands until that year. Although it was not shown in the United States, U.S. media outlets picked up on the ad, and after a barrage of complaints, Absolut's maker said on Sunday the ad campaign would cease http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080408/us_nm/mexico_absolut_dc;_ylt=AnF1zFFGSDScD2eFvTAK5NUDW7oF I dont drink period. It's now 2007 and most people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts, riding camels! Part 2: Political info. Being agaisnt the U.S policies is a different story! We live basically the same lives.Don't look at the way women dress at the public places! You've got to see them in other places!I've got to say that for Iran, Israel is not equal with Jews! Israel is a gov't. Jews are faithful people! Here's an article."Wiped off the map....The roumor of the century.Read how the media and the U.S newspapers have twisted it into a controvertioal topic. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/norouzi.php?articleid=11025 I don't like the way he speaks frankly, but admit that other presidents say many terrible things too, but the media doesn't pull their leg so much! Now you see that you were wrong.Iran has always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. I mean it's a good idea to consider what Bush is doing to the world with his wrong decisions and lies. Bush is powerful and influencial, but Ahmadinejad is nothing. He's even failed to control the inflation . If you like to insist on your theory of attacking Israel, I'll tell you our logical theory: "The moment that Iran attacks Israel, Iran will be wiped off the face of the earth by the U.S and its allies.(Thought this twisted phrase is familiar to you) and Iran is far more logical than doing such a stupid thing" So, forget about it.I'm quite sure you know that all the events and lies in the world are a part of a pre-planned scenario by major world-powers (Iran as an important country has always been a part of their plans)And the first step is to brainwash people. When we think of the U.S, we think of its greatness and its countless "positive points" not its president. BTW, Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time To Abjado: May I share a little secret with you? al Qaeda=Arabs, Taliban=Arabs, Bin Laden=Arab.Nedd I say more? If it were not fro Iran you Arabs lot was now vanished due to so many diseases.Learn to contribute to the world instead of arguing over religion.Religion is for peace but you Arabs use it as a means to justify your ignorance.I'm sorry. You're the ones who destroy Islam.Remember?Islam has said the learned people are much more valuable than the religious people who tend to live in the dark. We're religious and at the same time learned. What about you Arab Ajabo? With all my respect I should say: Americans please read this. Please! It's an international website. You're a little cluless! This shows the backyard that the U.S media are hiding from you. http://web.amnesty.org/report2006/usa-summary-eng Hope you find it useful.
homework help!!? where can i find a map of california with the latitude and longitude lines on it? Make sure it isnt a site where you look up cities. Thanks for answering!!
Does this prove that the media try to make good scary stories just to sell them? I believe that if you spend 10 minutes reading this essay, you will be better informed than if you listen to a lifetime's worth of Major Media news. This article has two parts: 1. Cultural and general info 2. Political info. Note: I've explained everything.Any answers before reading the whole thing will prove to be wrong.Specially the political part.I've provided evidance for whatever I say. We look at the world in a beautiful way, cos we know what's it like! Many of you don't even have a clue what's life like in other countries! Buy a satllite. It's worth it! I assure you! You would be surprised to see the difference between what you imagine and what Iran really is! In my view, everything is great, if you ignore unemployment, drugs, inflation and air pollution. (Common problems in today's world?) Also, you can't compare Iran today with the Iran you remember. Most of those footages are from Afghanistan which was ruled by freaks (Taliban) or the very early days just after Iran's revolution! Otherwise you'd get new footages at least once a month! What exactly makes you think women are treated differently? The way they were/are treated in Saudi Arabia? Try to think of the racism in your country too. Each country has its own problems.I found a BOOK of the U.S problems and it got me dizzy! Iran has its own problems too. The pioneer in heart transplants and artificiall hearts and so on and so! (I've put two websites below) The head of the Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. Here's an article."Wiped off the map....The roumor of the century.Read how the media and the U.S newspapers have twisted it into a controvertioal topic. http://www.antiwar.com/orig/norouzi.php?articleid=11025 I don't like the way he speaks frankly, but admit that other presidents say many terrible things too, but the media doesn't pull their leg so much! Now you see that you were wrong.Iran has always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. I mean it's a good idea to consider what Bush is doing to the world with his wrong decisions and lies. Bush is powerful and influencial, but Ahmadinejad is nothing. He's even failed to control the inflation . When we think of the U.S, we think of its greatness and its countless "positive points" not its president. BTW, Did you find my article informative? : ) Thanks for your time To searching-please: First thanks for your answer. Looking for director to take a look at my story and turn it into a screenplay and direct it.? Hey, so I'm Stevenson. Im from NYC. I just finished writing a story about a month ago and i'm looking for director to take a look at it and see if it would be possible for us to write a screenplay of it together and direct it. I know this sounds a little weird considering im 16 but you gotta understand. I LIVE FOR MOVIES. I like writing alot and don't know if i would be good in the directors chair.... This would be a tremendous chance for 4 reasons. 1 - My sister works in P.R so thats tremendous publicity.. 2 - you will get a chance to make something that you can really put your thoughts into... 3 - NYC is by far one the best city to get yur dream out there. Also its a paying gig.. Lol... My dad would take care of the expenses... So if your intrested..Please, respond to this forum or send me a message.. .. Here's a brief summary on what the story is about..... Joey: A 16 year old kid with the thought of mind of Holden Caulfield and the slick mouth of any lonely teenager searching for acceptance. After Joey’s mom hits the lottery they move to Laguna Beach, California, or as Joey would say: “the place where Satan’s children reside”. While enjoying the Laguna Beach party life, Joey needs more, so he convinces his mom to send him to Africa: “To find the meaning of life and all”. While rooming at J.Danjis: A boarding school in Africa, Joey meets some questionable people and teachers who are sure to map out the real question of why Joey is so angry at the world. Taking a page out of J.D Salinger’s: Catcher in the Rye writing style and the sleek references to pop culture. He never heard her whisper is a sure bet when it comes to adolescence and rebellion.
Who to chose an attorney for Wrongful Termination? LEGAL DISCLOSURE You do NOT have to agree or accept any or all on this site or the blogs Dedication Samuel Moore Walton "Mr Sam, Helen Robson Walton "Mrs Walton, and James Lawrence Walton "Bud" , and Thomas M Coughlin, a protoge of Mr Sam, even though he did some wrong nevetheless, but lost because of the Code of Silence and the fear that all associates have of the powerful Legal Division of Wal Mart Stores, Inc. The FBI's Cyber Division knows the password of this site and CAN deliberately DELETE it, accidentally leak it or sell it. Mr Lang is a decent and the Waller Family will pray for everyone that is against Max Rafael Waller Team Lead Ambrosio Galvan also knows a lot of dirty secrets at Sam's Club 6625, but is nervous about losing his job if he sides with Max Rafael Waller Sam's Club PD-57 was NOT adhere to by Club Manager Fidel Jacobo and Membership Manager Esperanza Lopez. No documentation of any complaints and the San Fernando Police Department or the Los Angeles Police Department ever showed for a "Work Place Violence." Please show proof since one complaint and one video tape does NOT establish workplace violence. Neither Mr Jacobo or Ms Lopez wanted to sign the papers of any meeting between two managers and Max Rafael Waller for Legal Documentation. He was one hundred percent vested in Profit Sharing and had a one month vacation allocated per year. No meetings to address any potentail problems at the Tire and Battery Center were brought up by the Team Lead or Management. As of Monday, 9 April 2007, the people of the Tire Shop are playing pranks and making it appear as if Max Rafael Waller is becoming forgetful such as the misplacement of tools and personal safety gear. The suspects are Erick Miron and Mark Castro. Esperanza Lopez was told and never had a meeting to discuss the topics brought to her attention by Max Rafael Waller. Manager Esperanza Lopez was asked to verify this by reviewing the Surveillance video tapes and the request was not honored. Max Rafael Waller studied all of Wal-Mart policies and found that if that his remark {INTIMIDATION} could be verified then he would get a coaching for making such a remark. The others are scared to tell the truth. Sam's Club 6625 Fidel Jacobo has POSSIBLY EVERYBODY at Sam's Club gathering information given out by Max Rafael Waller and will reward them by promotion and/or a payraise along with illegal surveillance that GROSSLY violates Global Ethics Compliance that Wal-Mart Stores, Inc claims to uphold. They will say they are understaff and this is baseless. Fidel Jacobo might be spreading misinformation through the tire shop boss, Bill Lang. Fidel Jacobo has received a lot of Anti-Union training Bill told Max if the associates do not follow rules let that be the problem of management. Bill Lang is a Team Lead and so he is required to enforce all rules even IF he disagrees. Los Angeles Times C2 Thursday, April 5, 2007 in the Business Section the title is Wal-Mart defend its monitoring If it is proven then it is a gross violoation of the Global Ethics that Wal Mart Stores, Inc agreed to comply when they signed it around 2003 Will Wal Mart Stores, Inc allow inspection of all internal complaints that have violated Global Ethics or stonewall like the White House and the Valerie Plame situation ? The secret for Wal-Mart not getting caught of Fear and intimidation is simple: a lot of unwritten rules so there is no evidence. A lot of non-managers associates will respond by saying they see or know nothing of improper treatment. They will also have selective memory. The Legal Division of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc is preparing countercharges and some will be Invasion of Privacy, Defamation of Character, Character Assassination, Destroying Reputation, Intent , Injurious to morale , etcetera, but the biggest will be that this site is ONLY generalizations and especially baseless with no legally verifiable facts. Will the Legal Division have legitimate countercharges ? Yes, but I chose no to type all them and have them ready for a lawyer for effective defense and so it is their problem to figure them out. Duress and Graymail may be part of the defense of Max Rafael Waller along with the usual Freedom of Exprssion afforded by the US Constitution Graymail can be used against US Federal Government and possibly local Law Enforcement. Will Wal-Mart succeed in having Max Rafael Waller discredited by a Psychological Evaluation thereby stigmatizing him as a man with grands delusions ? Is Samuel Robson Walton of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc part of this ? Ensuring that legal cases proving that the rules to ensure to easy terminate people are not made aware? Wal-Mart Stores, Inc has a persistent Legal Divsion that rivals the US Federal Government and has many victories on its belt. INTIAL ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT WITH A PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION A possible misdiagnosis and initial attempt to discredit through a Psychological Evaluation by Scott Wang MD from Providence Holy Cross Medical Center 15301 Rinaldi St Mission Hills CA 91345 Telephone: 1-818-365-8051 Dr Scott Wang's name could not be found at their website http://www.providence.org/losangeles/facilities/providence_holy_cross/default.htmand he is the one who possibly suggested a Psychiatric Evaluation so a result to Wal-Mart's desire could be used to start discrediting Max Rafael Waller An old white man with a Kaiser Permanente badge and from a Psychiatric Evaluation team from Kaiser never left a business card or a phone number for communication. He looked like an actor from Law and Order portraying a Psychiatrist and impersonation IS illegal and punishable by law. On Sunday, 1 April 2007 Dr Paul R Hladon Kaiser Permanente 13652 Cantara St Panorama City CA 91402 Telephone: 1-818-375-2377 Dr Paul R Hladon reluctantly gave Max two prescriptions: Azithromycin 250MG {Take two tablets daily for seven days} and Ciprofloxacin HCL 500MG{Take one tablet orally two times a day for fourteen days} Only two X-Rays and no blood test done, so how did Dr Hladon know what to prescribe ? He took the medicine and instructions as given. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The FBI are also exploiting fear and they have the BSU as their asset. Bill Lang has casually spoken about death and intimidation about how Max will get fired with one more coaching which comes from the FBI and Wal-Mart's Homeoffice in Bentonville Arkansas 72716. Possible causes Max Rafael Waller's fear of possibly dying. Around Wednesday, 21 March 2007 he dragged the rotting carcass of a dog so children would not touch it. It was in front on the Pepsi Bottling Plant in San Fernando California 91340 and its entrance is on Dronfield Ave. He MIGHT have breathed some Bacteria, Germs or other Biological Agents and maybe some Botulism. Also Desiccating{drying} Bacteria. Esther Topete was watering the front lawn at 11261 Sproule Ave, Pacoima California 91331 and was scared. Max picked up a headless Squirrel that had a foul stench and maggots and placed in the garbage bin. Psychiatric Evaluation(S) is a legal tool to discredit a critic so if they can find that a individual(s) has mental problems or unable to cope with life's problem the discrediting tactic will work. A stigma of mental problem is almost impossible to overcome. Being labeled with poor mental health has been used to successfully discredit a critic. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ACTIVITIES BY THE FBI Group Stalking will be denied resulting with the accusser(s) being prejudged or viewed as someone with Visual Hallucinations, additionally, Electromagnetic Harassment or Electromagnetic Pulses will be denied resulting with the accusser(s)being prejudged or viewed as someone with Auditory Hallucinations. Both can be used when someone is driving or walking but when someone is trying to sleep the Electromagnetic Harassment will be used to disrupt sleep and with lack of sleep people's behavior is altered significantly and people end up with the impressions that they cannot handle stress. Electromagnetic Harassment is used to break the will of people who dare to dissent. The FBI has a complete profile of Max Rafael Waller and two weak areas are Anger and Anxiety, so they will create a situation that will end with him having a Fatal Heart Attack and/or Fatal Stroke. The FBI will to DO Sleep Deprivation/disruption AGAINST MAX RAFAEL WALLER. The collaborators of US Law Enforcement are the neighbors around Sproule Ave and Pierce St area Will the FBI be creative and imaginative with this information along with the profile to discredit Max Rafael Waller ? The neighbors around the corner of Sproule Ave and Pierce St in Pacoima California 91331 are collaborating by playing a lot of bass on their speakers and technically their noise is considered Electro-Magnetic Pulses, EMP, since the speakers have magnets energized or powered by electricity. This is why it is vital for them to have people found to be mentally unstable by the legal use of Psychological Evaluation. The FBI will discredit Max Rafael Waller by ALL NECESSARY MEANS as they other Americans like a serial killer Biological and Psychological war along with Electronic from their world famous Behavioral Science Unit or BSU The FBI might HAVE an unofficial pact with Organized Crime and they have been intercepting phone calls and ended phone calls with the help of Time-Warner Cable US Law Enforcement have all of the Internet activities and had yet to find any evidence to charge someone of potentially being an Internet Predator and Pedophile. Sadly the owners of the house at 11261 Sproule Ave, Pacoima CA 91331 are family members and do NOT want to get involved. Su much for family unity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Surveillance, Psychotronics and (Gang)Stalking Operations The Xiandos web site is http://xiandos.info/Surveillance,_Psychotronics_and_(Gang-)Stalking_Operations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The FBI will cite National Security and not allow the reviews of any US Federal Black Operations.
