Road Maps Of India Knowledge Base
Does anyone know how often the folded (paper) road maps of Indian cities get updated? I wanted to get some before or during my vacation there, but some say the maps haven't been updated for years so I shouldn't count on being able to find my way even with a map in my hand. Is it just another prejudice about India? Not trying to start a discussion about the about the assumptions people make about others people or cultures etc - just asking about the maps!

Can some pro-reservationnists suggest a road map to make reserved to be competent enough without reservation.? The logic that thousands of years historical maistakes to be corrected cannot stand waters as history is always written by person at advantage, and most of Indian history we read now written by west. If we need to do that ws have to correct thousands of mistakes which some times emberassing to political leaders even to think. what presently trobling India is the heart burn of hard working, and complesency due to easy fruit with less effort. neither can give best fruit. We have to create competance and self confidence in all those of reserved category that they can meet the challenge of hard work with out any reservational help. They should realise that they are competant. India can not take a thousand years for this ( as politians are projecting). We need a timebound and irreversible road map that can be met by 2010.

I want to be the next Prime Minister of India? I want to be the next Prime Minister of India: Well, we are the world's largest democracy and every citizen has the right to aim for the top slot and lead the nation. So why NOT you and i? Let me explain the challenges we face as a nation and the road map to overcome the hurdles and emerge as a true world leader. Challenges: 1. 1.2 billion overpopulation, growing at the rate of 30 million per year. 2. Hindutva vs Islam clash. Mistrust and alienation of 250 million Muslims. 3. Corrupt and failed Political leadership. Ministers becoming wealth mangers and spokespersons of Billionaires club. 25% of GDP in the hands of 52 billionaires is proof enough. 4. Outdated education policy which produces job seekers and NOT job creators 5. Lack of vision and confidence to emerge as a leader for the third world. http://alamsha.sulekha.com/blog/post/2009/12/i-want-to-be-the-next-prime-minister-of-india.htm

Why is the US's policy on the Kashmir dispute sensible? Instead of direct and active intervention, the US is attempting to promoting a composite dialogue between India and Pakistan. (The United States will facilitate two-party talks between India and Pakistan, but that it will not provide substance, a road map, or a blueprint). Why is this the best solution? (I'm in Model UN and I'm representing the US, therefore I have to try to sell the US's foreign policy to the other countries in hopes that they will ally with me!)

Taj is a wonder of the world but Agra's condition is very bad particularly its roads. Will anyone take care ? Agra comes in golden triangle of India(Delhi - Agra - Jaipur) on tourist's map of India but its roads r very bad. Yamuna behind it at north has no water except rainy season b coz before entering Agra, a big canal was opened towards Haryana & so entire waer went there. Bcoz of that TAJ is being badly affected. That canal must be closed. It is pity that even having Yamuna, Agra residents get borewell water which is highly saline(salty) & makes hair sticky after taking a bath. During Shahjahan's period, Agra's roads were beautifully made of red sandstones. Taj in original condition before destructions by Jats & Marhatta's of Gwalior, had diamonds attached to each corner of every marble tile. Two very beautiful mable lamps of oval shape were hung on 2 graves having very complicated curved tubes insde such that oil inside moved in regulated speed & once lighted they were lighting perpetually . Viceroy replaced them with worse ones. now none is there. Will anyone replace similar ones ?

Will Iran use Indian Banks for receiving Oil Money? Will it accept India's offer to import Indian Goods for Oil? India recently asked Iran to use it's Bank's when America is trying to put ban on Iran's oil transactions and issued sanctions. Now Iran is finding it difficult to receive oil payments through it's Central Bank. America is trying to get support from China, Japan and India asking them to not to import oil from Iran. America sent it's representatives to these countries. China buys 30% of Iran's oil. India is Iran's second largest customer which buys 20% of Iran's oil production. Japan buys 10% of Iran's oil. It looks like none of these countries are willing to support America.together they buy more than half of Iran's oil production. If they don't buy oil from Iran can America give them that much oil at the same price. No. America is not in a position to give any alternative for Iran's oil. Naturally Japan, China and India don't pay any heed to America's request and they continue buying oil from Iran. China refused American idea of not buying oil from Iran in very strong words making it very clear that they don't care for America. Japan said it will reduce oil imports from Iran but everyone knows it will not do that. India said nothing. But as soon as American Representative turned it's back, India offered Iran to use Indian banks for international transactions. Iran has an Account with an Indian bank called UCO BANK (United Commercial Bank) and India is asking Iran to use it for international transactions. India has offered another alternative to Iran. Now in exchange of oil money Iran can buy Indian Goods or it can allow India to built infrastructures like roads, bridges, canals etc. in Iran. Iran is not Libya, it is not Afghanistan or Iraq. Iran has very strong military force than Libya, Afghanistan or Iraq. It is a major producer of oil in today's world. Also it's location on world map is unique. Russia, China and India are close to Iran. Russia's southern border touches North Iran. Therefore Russia has already warned USA that any attack on Iran will be considered as an attack on Russia. South American countries like Venezuela, Cuba support Iran. Therefore USA will have to think 10 times before attacking Iran. India and Iran have cultural and business ties for last thousands of years. Before partition India's north west border was touching Iran. In those days there was no Pakistan. F*ck those British who divided our country and made Pakistan. It is for sure that India will not break it's age old historical relations with Iran for the country like USA which was not in existence few hundred years back and it's existence in next century is doubtful for many scholars. It is said one who grows fast, dies fast. With the vedio of US Marine urinating on dead bodies of Afghan civilians no one will support America. We are waiting for Pakistan to break in to pieces. As soon as it breaks India's border will reach up to Afghanistan and Iran.
do u think we would have revolt like Egypt and Libya?? is it possible/potential in India? what do you think abt future of India?? if it remains like this Cong govt..is it potential to have a big revolt in India as it took place in Egypt, Libya and some other arab nations?? what do you think abt it? is it time for that alarm in India?? are we all capable to get together to protest against corrupt and coward politicians?? because it all depends on me, u n other 'common man' of this Great ..Great ...Greatest Country India....we are living the worst..worst and most worst life here because no one is taking care of our life, health, dignity, self respect or our own identity....you are not sure to come back at home in the evening,,,u might met with any road accident,,,any terrorist activity or shot dead by any mafia or robber...life is the most cheapest thing in India.....we have to pay bribe everywhere..nowadays I saw a change..if you pay bribe and your work done,, U WILL GO TO THE PERSON TO SAY THANKS AGAINST THE WORK DONE by taking BRIBE..is it true??? we are living in world's most corrupt nation..we do not have enough sanitation facility,,we have luxuries temples and hospitals but we do not have enough urinals and if we have then it's like the 'suicide chamber'..our prime minister and health minister should to visit any public toilet in India,,I m sure we would have nation mourn on second day because they will die on the spot while they enter in any of public toilet.........why?? why we still not waken??? I am doubt, we all adopted this system either we have not that guts like arab population......when we will wake??? is it time for revolution or we still waiting for any other corruption or attack on Delhi, Amritsar or Ahmedabad??? Just think..what if any terrorist group attacked on CHINA?? they just captured all perpetrators within few hours and might hanged in next more hours without any trial, jury or investigations...lot of muslims shot dead before olympic in China,,why no one Human Rights Commision brought protest there in China?? where was Arundhati Roy?? where was other Muslim Brotherhood and other groups ??? there are so many nations are corrupted but while a matter of Nation Pride..no one President or PM of any nation can compromise..globally no one can play with their own Nation Pride...and we in INDIA? our PM can sleep well inspite of all terrorists and terrorism factories who are producing mass 'suicide brigades' to collapse India in Pakistan..our PM has no hesitation when Chinese Military stopped us to Build roads and some infrastructure in our land..what is this?? who can suffer this?? which Nation can bear this?? INDIA only..on Global Political Map.>> India is the most most ignored country...no one cares for us...even Nepal, Srilanka and Myanmar has more respect than India...few days before I read in News paper that Mr Manmohan Singh met with a president of a small country of Africa..it's hard to find and remember the name of that country but our PM has enough time to meet him..is this proud or dignity of India to give attention to a president of third country..actually Mr Singh downgraded himself along with our NATION..he sank all reputation of our country...he has to act like a strong nation like USA or China...because in Global Politics ..it's very important that how you behave with other nations...everybody is watching your movements...China never entertained any president or PM without their own interest and never gave 'extra mile' if even it is USA...big shame...big shame........enough is enough... I think this all happened due to our coward and corrupt...brain dead politicians... let me to know?? is there any short future chance in INDIA to have revolt like Egypt??? is this right time after lot of clear corruptions in recent past??? are wakening or still in deep sleep??? Have you seen the Muslim map of the World? I remember going into a Muslim book shop on Charing Cross Road in London and they had this map of the world with each country shaded according to the percentage Muslim population in that country. I was surprised to see how dark Britain, France and India were shaded. I haven't seen it again since 9/11 but wondered if it was still being printed.
Daily commute from Gurgaon to Faridabad? I am an NRI currently working in the Middle East. A company based in Faridabad has offered me a job but my house is in Gurgaon. I was thinking of commuting to work daily from my Gurgaon house instead of looking for an apartment in Faridabad. I haven't been to India in more than three years but last time I heard that the Gurgaon-Faridabad road was being converted into a 4-lane road. On Google Maps, the distance from my house to Faridabad is about 40kms, which seems manageable. However, given the sorry state of Indian roads, is it wise to commute from Gurgaon to Faridabad daily?
(INDIA-Karnataka) Manipulation Of Govt Records by the Survey officer, What action to take against him? dear sir I belong to minority Hindu Community and own a Small parcel of land (1.5 cents) in North karnataka. My adjacent Land is owner is a Swami (Mathadhikari) belonging to Majority Hindu Community and his holding is 10 Acres. In 2007 he got his Land surveyed and the surveyor belongs to his community. After Survey the surveyor prepared the PT sheet and has shown my land as Swami's and that i have encroached Swamis Land. All the records (drawings) prior to the survey do not match This new Drawing. The Surveyor has also in the drawings 1. Encroached my land. 2. Encroached Govt land beside the road. 3. a seasonal stream (nala) was flowing in one of his survey no, which has disappeared from his drawings. This nala is existing in records since 1918. 4. Not issued a notice of survey to me. as The swami is very influential and has local community and political support. He is threatening me with dire consequences. He has already attacked my Father once, when i tried to register a FIR, the local PSI refused, but interwined and requested swami not to take the law in his own hands. SWAMI IS A LAW UNTO HIMSELF. he has utter disregard for law. he has not converted his land to Non-Agriculture, but has built a commercial complex, school, Marriage hall without permission from any civic authorities. all the local staff in Survey and other depts are scared of him I Have filed a suit for Permananat injunction against him which is pending. now i want to know what action can be taken against the surveyor who has deliberately manipulated the records and has prepared a Bogus Map. Does he enjoy indemnity from his actions?
WHY HAS THE ARAB CONQUEST OF KING VIKRAMADITYA BEEN IGNORED BY HISTORIANS IN INDIA? INDIAN history has been written by whimsical and fancy loving historians.dont you think we need a change with greater emphasis on carbon dating, dna mapping and satelite imagery.every discipline of study has been open to change why not history. text of the crucial Vikramaditya inscription, found inscribed on a gold dish hung inside the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, is found recorded on page 315 of a volume known as ‘Sayar-ul-Okul’ treasured in the Makhtab-e-Sultania library in Istanbul, Turkey. Rendered in free English the inscription says: "Fortunate are those who were born (and lived) during king Vikram’s reign. He was a noble, generous dutiful ruler, devoted to the welfare of his subjects. But at that time we Arabs, oblivious of God, were lost in sensual pleasures. Plotting and torture were rampant. The darkness of ignorance had enveloped our country. Like the lamb struggling for her life in the cruel paws of a wolf we Arabs were caught up in ignorance. The entire country was enveloped in a darkness so intense as on a new moon night. But the present dawn and pleasant sunshine of education is the result of the favour of the noble king Vikramaditya whose benevolent supervision did not lose sight of us- foreigners as we were. He spread his sacred religion amongst us and sent scholars whose brilliance shone like that of the sun from his country to ours. These scholars and preceptors through whose benevolence we were once again made cognisant of the presence of God, introduced to His sacred existence and put on the road of Truth, had come to our country to preach their religion and impart education at king Vikramaditya’s behest." For those who would like to read the Arabic wording I reproduce it hereunder in Roman script: "Itrashaphai Santu Ibikramatul Phahalameen Karimun Yartapheeha Wayosassaru Bihillahaya Samaini Ela Motakabberen Sihillaha Yuhee Quid min howa Yapakhara phajjal asari nahone osirom bayjayhalem. Yundan blabin Kajan blnaya khtoryaha sadunya kanateph netephi bejehalin Atadari bilamasa- rateen phakef tasabuhu kaunnieja majekaralhada walador. As hmiman burukankad toluho watastaru hihila Yakajibaymana balay kulk amarena phaneya jaunabilamary Bikramatum". (Page 315 Sayar-ul-okul). [Note: The title ‘Saya-ul-okul’ signifies memorable words.] A careful analysis of the above inscription enables us to draw the following

Who was the Most Unsuccessful "INDIAN PRIME MINISTER" ...ever ? My Word is : Jawaharlal Nehru , Plain & Simple 1. This man lost the War with Pakistan , ceded the largest part of Kashmir to Pakistan. If you people look at authentic maps of India published in other countries like US or even Pakistan , you will see large areas of Kashmir ( shown as a part of india ) are actually in pocession of Pakistan. The war also resulted in Slaughter of 1,00,000 Hindus ( Vaishyas ) by pakistani Tribal . More than 1,00,000 Hindu women from Vaishya Community were then sold to Sexual Slavery in Pakistan , just as it has happened throughout Indian history .( This News was usual suppressed by Indian Press ). While all this was happening , many Indian Army Officers had abondoned their outposts , escaping into indian territory to escape the chinese onslought . The war was a total route & a national humiliation . This also happened because Nehru had staffed Army Headquaters with his personal Alcolytes ( Pitthus or Sychophants ) who only served his orders .These Army officers were there in Headquaters not on account of their merit but becauase they were good Sychophants ( just like the present Congress party is manned by Sychophants ). India was Routed by Chinese Army in 1962 War ( indo China War 1962). Chinese Army massacred 10,000 poorly equipped Indian Soldiers ( after they were surrounded or encircled ) . This happened because Indian soldiers were asked to fight inspite of running out of ammunition by the then Indian High Command under order from PMO. China has already occupied Askai Chin in 1951 by building roads through it , but the reports were suppressed by Jawahar lal Nehru until 1959 ( by then matter was out in the public ).By then Jawaharlal Nehru was forced to confront China , which had by then rapidly built roads across Tibet. Panchsheel Pact to what was being touted , is shameless attempt by Jawahar lal Nehru to appease the Chinese .It involved India giving up extra territorial possession in Tibet ( which British had assidiously built), vacating Indian Military outposts ( & also Postal & Telegraph Departments ) within Tibet ( & Askai Chin ) by Indian Army , also giving up claims to Huge tracts of Territory within Tibet by India . Not surprisingly Chinese saw this shameless policy of appeasement as a "Weakness" , so when they got an opportunity , they taught India a lesson ( as claimed by Chinese foreign Minister ). Even todate Huge tracts of Land in Arunachal Pradesh are within Chinese territory ( but not shown as such by Indian Maps ). So we had Kashmir problem & also a National Humiliation , which was the first PM's Gift to India . In all this Indian media played suppressed crucial news reports thus helping the Nehru Gandhi Family rule this country. I don't consider Manmohan singh as PM , since he is a PUPPET . Nor do I consider Pratibha Patil as President , since she owes it to nehru gandhi family connection rather than her merit ( as in case of A.P.J Kalam.

It will be my first time in Los Angelese, CA. Please help? I need to find China Town, India Town, Korean Town, Thai Town, and Japanese Town. For each town, I need to know at least one intersection of two roads, so I can find it using google map. I Did Not Know the Seriousness....? of hunger in India - and I answered a question about hunger in India rather offhandedly/shallowly? I saw this today on BBC........... Diet of mud and despair in Indian village By Chris Morris BBC News, Ganne, Uttar Pradesh Two children in Ganne Children in Ganne have to eat dried mud and silica "We live on a day-to-day basis," Suraj says, as the faint sound of hammering echoes across the village. "What we earn is what we spend on our families in a day." In Ganne, just off the main road about an hour south of the city of Allahabad, this is a simple fact of life. It is home to members of a poor tribal community, who live in small huts clustered around a series of shallow quarries. Inside one of the huts sits a little girl called Poonam. She is three years old, and in the early stages of kidney failure. Like many children in Ganne she has become used to eating bits of dried mud and silica, which she finds in the quarry. Tiny children chew on the mud simply because they are hungry - but it is making them ill. When reports first emerged of children eating mud here local officials delivered more food and warned the villagers not to speak to outsiders. But Poonam's father, Bhulli, is close to despair. What can we do? We eat the mud from the quarry when we feel hungry Phulkari Villager "What can I say," he shrugs. "We can't afford to eat properly, so how can I afford to buy medicines for her?" "I am really worried about my daughter, but I don't know what to do next. The poor need the government's help - if we had it, we wouldn't be in such a desperate state." People like Bhulli and Suraj make their money filling lorries with bits of rock. It takes about eight hours for five men to fill one load. They carry the stones up from the quarry in plastic washing-up bowls balanced on their heads. One of the women in the village, Phulkari, approaches to tell us about her little boy. "My son's name is Suraj, and he's started eating mud too," she says. "What can we do? We eat the mud from the quarry when we feel hungry." "Where do we get the money?" she asks. "We usually eat food only once a day. Last night we went to bed without eating anything at all." Food protests The World Bank estimates that one third of all the very poorest people in the world live in India, and stories like those from Ganne have now inspired a national Right To Food campaign. Map There have been protest rallies in the heart of Delhi, as the Indian parliament prepares to debate a new Food Security Bill. It will dictate how many people in the country get access to massively subsidised food grain. There's no doubt that India should be able to afford to feed its people. But the devil is in the detail. "It'll only cost the government about 1.2% of GDP to universalize a system of giving food for all, cheap food for all," says Kavitha Srivastava, the national coordinator of the Right to Food campaign. "They can do it, if they have the political will. It's prioritising - where do you want to put the money?" "We think it should go in building people's nutrition levels. You can't have a country which is weak, which is hungry, which is anaemic. How can you have a nation like this?" Now the government seems to be prepared to accept a new way of defining poverty, which will increase the number of people below the poverty line by more than 100 million to about 372 million. If you simply throw money at this problem...you'll have to throw four times the amount to get the result you want. And the government of India can't afford that. Dr Kaushik Basu Finance ministry economic advisor If international poverty standards were used, the number would be much higher still - and some Indian economists believe it should be. But whichever figure is used, the poverty line feels like a rather fictitious divide because feeding more than a billion people is a massive logistical exercise. Vast quantities of food provided by the state go missing every day because of corruption and theft. "Food ought to be a right," says Dr Kaushik Basu, the Chief Economic Advisor at India's Ministry of Finance. "And I believe this is a movement in the correct direction." "But what worries me at times is that we're being too glib and quick about the delivery mechanism." Official estimates are that right across the country 75% of subsidised grain does not make it to the intended target in villages like Ganne. I intend to be more sensitive about these issues. I simply did not know about this.
can someone read and check this essay if it is appropriate for college level narrative and desriptive essay? First day of College Ever since I came to America, I wanted to be a part of the millions of students that go to an American college; it was a dream for me to study here. Finally, that day arrived and I was getting ready to go to college. My heart was pounding against my chest. I was, so excited and nervous, besides all, many thoughts were circulating through my mind. What if I didn’t understand the teacher’s words? How teacher and other students will behave with me being an international student? What kind of problems I have to face? My friend and I were going to college in the same car. We left my house at about 9:30; it was only 7 minutes ride to the college. I still had half an hour till class started, so I thought we are going to get early in class, but it was only my delusion. It took us 10 minutes of going around in circles to park our car; my hope of getting early in class was shattering. While we got out of the car, it was raining heavily .It acquired us another ten long minutes to figure out the way to enter the campus. I knew that we are already late to class; also, we didn’t have a single guess of where our classroom was? It struck me, “Oh my god, I’m lost on my first day of college. Well, what else could possibly go wrong?” To top all that there was no one around to help us. After entering the college, I felt that I had landed in a temperate forest with high density of long green trees. After we studied a campus map, we found our classroom. We slowly entered the classroom cold and wet like roosters. In the classroom, we faced a young woman with a beautiful face, and attractive smile, our teacher. After student and teacher introduction, she discussed the syllabus for upcoming classes. I liked the way that my new teacher talked and also her manner of providing knowledge; she amused us throughout the class period. When the class was over, I felt that I was unnecessarily afraid, and this class was perfectly normal. Now, the time for one more fear; the fear was about totally unfamiliar subject, anatomy and physiology. In this class, my teacher was a jolly, intelligent, and an old gentleman with lots of good experiences from his life. When my teacher was talking about syllabus and class policies, I wasn’t able to be involved in that discussion because I was thinking whether or not I would understand the lab work that he mentioned. Everything just came in by one ear and went out by the other. My friend, who had studied here, encouraged me to not to worry. She said, “Everything is going to be fine by two or three days when you are familiar with the way of your teacher’s teaching and study methods.” When we were free to go home, we faced a new problem. We entered in wrong parking lot and couldn’t find our car. After some perplexity, we found our car with a $10 dollar fine because we had parked our car in a carpool parking without a parking pass. Finally, after many complications we hit the road to my house. In the car, I talked to my friend how I’m impressed from this college, and felt very happy. Of course, there was happiness because of reaching my long awaited goal. I found the college atmosphere so friendly, yet I am an internationals student. I was impressed by enhanced class equipments. I was astonished to find that the classrooms had projectors (didn’t really know about projectors because there weren’t many in India) and television sets (the classrooms didn’t have television in India). I went home that day with cheerfulness instead of frightening. This happiness was much stronger then the fear, I had before. Now, when I am going back to home, I don’t have any illusions in my mind about teachers, my class mates and study methods. As we go through life, we encounter many firsts; in later life, when you remember these firsts, some make you happy but some may frighten you. After remembering the first day of my college, a smile always take place on my face.

Who knows what Daoism is? Definition of Dao Dao in its simplest form refers to "road" and its heavenly form "the way (the way of everything)." Origin Of Dao The philosopher Lao Zi created Dao around the sixth century BCE in mainland China. At that time, there was two main religions coexisting in China: Buddhism and Tao(or Doaism). The Buddhists of China had their own temples and arts (Shaolin are the martial art of monks). The original Kung Fu in China was referred to as "Wu Tang." The difference was that the Shaolin Monks developed their arts on less hurtful ways of fighting while the Wu Tang, the original martial art of China was more fierce and dealt with moves that kills, but was just as peaceful as monks (The concept of Tai chi with its meditation forms and fighting forms, and the sign that represents Dao, the circle with black and white in it (can be found on google image search for "Dao.") Daoists believes that their is this pure energy that exists in everything that makes them work, in martial art its know as "Chi." FYI: This is why the belief that people can sense things just as well as they see them because this pure energy "Chi" from the environment is emitted and disturbs your own Chi so to create a mental picture. Consider the system where it emits sound waves so far, hitting structures and being stopped, provides a general map of structures according to the waves. Creator of Dao Lao Zi was an ancient philosopher who's name translates to "Old Boy." His name was "Old Boy" because he believed that one can never stop learning, thus the name (Old - for one can be very old, Boy - for one is always learning like a young boy, boy because back then women was forbidden to learn). What Is Dao? Dao represents "The Way" suggesting that there is a "right way for doing everything." Dao is what makes things work, as in the catalyst for just about everything. Daoist believes that the problems in society lied in "ignorance" as in not having the knowledge of. And so "understanding" was the key to life. Lao Zi also taught his students to respect their elders, to be disciplined in every form. The following will be general concept of Dao. Religion-Daoist Like i said, Dao represents the never ending "ways or paths." In religion, Dao promotes the learning and exploring of all other religions because Dao is based on Logic and Reasoning(Lao Zi was a philosopher, who many believed he became immortal, but he did not mean for people to look up to him like god, but a normal person like their own), most of us know this as "tolerance." If you look for the temples of Dao, you would probably find that people who believes in Dao often they are also believers of many other and all kinds of religions. Some Concepts of Dao Dao believes everything and everyone has its place in life, that does not mean people are not subject to change. Daoists believes that change can only occur when we "understand" and then "accept" for what it "is." This is a repeated phenomenon that occurs to and before us everyday. Exp. If a pencil is dropped on the floor, you must "understand (know what it is)" and then "accept (accept that its on the floor)" and then you can pick it up (change). Oh and just for you guys who's wondering about the difference of Tao and Dao, they are the same, it was miner pronunciation in the translations. And Daoists does go to temples. If anyone has any questions regarding Dao feel free to ask. Why did i post this? I was furious when i read some of the answers i found people writing, things like Dao came from India, Dao was this and that...I hate it when people start to answer what and when they know so little about.

Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:36:46 AM Comment: THE lunch hosted by Mr Asif Zardari for the newly elected members of the three leading parties on Feb 27 may well be remembered as a landmark in the long awaited transition to a democratic dispensation in Pakistan. The squalls that rocked the state on Oct 12, 1999 and in the form of the 17th amendment inflicted much damage. Then, the catastrophe of Nov 3 put all salvaging efforts beyond the capacity of any single party. The existing distortions in that historic but half-alive Constitution present a nightmare and demand the exercise of the highest form of political wisdom and legal expertise. The process of eliminating them by creating a new interface between politics and law has just begun. Pakistan???s present crisis is characterised by the bitter harvest of constitutional violations, growing imbalance between a power-hungry centre and the handicapped federating units, uncontrollable violence by ever-proliferating bands of extremists and, above all, by a rapidly rising table of sub-surface social anger at glaring inequalities of income and opportunity. A reasonably broad-based coalition government may provide a healing touch. There is no great virtue in a two-party system anymore as, for quite some time to come, regional aspirations will deepen particular identities of the constitutive elements of a diverse nation. The greatest achievement of the three top leaders present at Mr Zardari???s lunch is that they successfully persuaded their followers that these identities were perfectly compatible with an overarching national identity. Scratch the surface and lurking just beneath the protest against the humiliation of the higher judiciary and repeated violations of the Constitution is a palpable anguish of poverty and deprivation. Pakistan must eschew politics of vendetta but that does not mean that every crime against the state and society be brushed under the carpet. It needs a high-powered Commission on Truth, Justice and Reconciliation in the interest of historical accuracy and to build dykes for future security. We need to replace mercenary relations with relations based on mutual respect, community of interests and coordinated pursuit of common objectives within our respective national parameters. A strong and stable national coalition can be built around the present understanding between the PPP, PML-N and ANP. The US-led West should welcome it and not undermine it as it alone can make Pakistan???s battle against militant extremists effective The west should to withdraw their support from the one Musharaf who loathed by the people at maximum Posted By: shaista @ 03/01/2008 5:07:40 AM Comment: THE results of the election that took place on Feb 18 were astonishing. President Musharraf???s supporting party Pakistan Muslim League (Q) was wiped out and the ministers who were lucky enough to keep their seats are now at a safe distance from President Musharraf. The people at large want the president to go with no other choice. However, the US has been unduly interfering in our politics as its Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher has emphasised the need to continue President Musharraf???s rule. Pakistan has remained under military rule for more than half of its life, and the people no longer want any dictator to rule over them. As the PPP has secured the maximum number of seats, followed by the PML (N), the ties made between these parties also pose a serious challenge to the president???s stay any further in office. His rule for eight long years has brought many hardships to the nation and now he should quit The US slogan for democracy is and justice is just a slogan and in real and practicle not willing to be so for their own agenda From whome to expect the justice and democracy in the world the only power it self violate This is not the Musharaf pakistan but of 1,600/-Millions people and what they think of the rest This is not in the benifit of US to support the cruel one of the country who now the people think as Mechile G.Choaf The people and the young generation have very strong anti US sentiments due to their blind support of Dictator Musharaf This is not a good sign and this will increase with passage of time Posted By: eddiewhere @ 02/29/2008 2:12:44 AM Comment: IN THIS ENVIORNMENT OF ECONOMIC FEUDALISM WHERE THE MIDDLE CLASS MUST SUFFER IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE pROFITS OF MULTINATIONAL CORpORATIONS, WHO BENEFIT FROM CHEAp LABOR, THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS BEEN LOST. People in Pakistan voted in favor of Bhutto's party, not for Zardari, who was responsible for her twice ouster from the Premiership due to his shameful dirty roles of Mr.10%. Country's biggest grass root party preaching "Government of the People, by the People, for the People", which was founded on the basic principle of providing them respectable " Bread, Dress and Shelter", was created by Bhutto, hanged by a military dictator. Now, the party is orphaned in a bomb-blast death of his daughter during another military rule. Situation brings forth her rootless spouse, "Mr.Tenpercent Zardari", holding the People's mandate ( at ransom?), for endless exploits. Whatever the words mean, they cannot change the genes. The name "Zardari" literally means "Gold-Lord" and he lives his name literally. He was responsible for legislating and monopolizing gold import into Pakistan (through an Emirates based gold-tycoon of Pakistan origin) on a ridiculous 2% custom duty and made unfathomable ocean of fortune. If the US administration is ready," to let them have their rounds of discussions, still expecting the [Pakistani] Army to take the necessary military action, counting on an interesting transition", then the whole riddle is solved. The ongoing change in Pakistan is not a change of " act" in the drama being staged but, a "change of gear into a powerful all terrain drive", to move forward on the designed road-map, crossing effectively all rugged and bogging tracts en-route. Posted By: shaista @ 02/25/2008 5:19:05 AM Comment: The newly retired General Musharraf has displayed no intention of leaving office despite his king party losing even after plenty of evidence that he had planned to rig the elections. The caretaker government was anything but neutral and the Election Commission was suspect. But pressure from Washington compelled him to change his plans. Had he still engaged in massive rigging, not only would he have drawn Washington???s ire but also evoked ugly street protests. He knew that if the ???agitators??? caused the country to come to a standstill, the army would distance itself from him. Without their protection, he would not last a day in office. The habitual offender Musharaf this time fail for not carrying out a full pleadge crime of rigging due to international observer existing These people will never be convinced that it is time for the ex-general to go. To them, he is the embodiment of truth, the doer of all good things, and the prince of enlightened moderation without whom Pakistan would return to the Dark Ages. It is time for Musharraf, to wake up and realise that the game is over. Everything Musharraf stood for was repudiated on Feb 18. The electoral results have made it clear, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that the people do not wish to see Musharraf holding court on radio and television day in and day out. Aitzaz Ahsan spoke for millions when he said, ???Musharraf is the most hated & loathed man in Pakistan.??? During the last several months, poll after poll showed Musharraf???s popularity plummeting like a lead coin in a bottomless well. But he continued to reject the polls by saying that they only represented the views of a few thousand people and asserted vainly that he was vastly popular in the populous countryside. But even the King???s party was not taken in by the myths spun out by the monarch. It knew that once rigging was no longer an option, its fate was sealed. Why else would they seek to obtain the release of one of the key instigators of the Lal Masjid takeover, Abdul Aziz, just days prior to the vote? This was an obvious ploy designed to play on the religious sympathies of the people and to garner much needed votes. How else could one justify releasing a real and confirmed terrorist from jail while holding the nation???s eminent justices and barristers under house arrest? Musharraf had said not too long ago that he would step down when he saw that the people were no longer with him. He said he was continuing as president only because it was in the national interest. He would rather be playing golf or tennis, he noted, but the situation required him to sacrifice his personal interests. Well, the time has now come for him to do the nation a favour and quit as he is the only evil for this country. The only worry Americans have about the moment to keep up Musharraf in Presidency because Musharraf has amended the constitution in such a way no one else can do any thing without his consent and authority. This is worrisome for the new elected politicians. They know very much the hard fact that they have not been elected on merits, it is the hatred against Musharraf they have en-cashed. Because Musharraf have destroyed the true democrative spirit of the Pakistan???s Constitution by extremely autocratic and extra constitutional way before conducting the general election so that he could do the post election rigging. If those powers are not taken away from the presidency then the politicians will be nothing more than tools in his hands. If the politicians failed to restore highest court judges that will mean they are empty handed. Moreover they won???t be able to face their voters who have sent them Islamabad to clean up the mess and deliver good to them. Which country(ies) on earth would be impacted hardest by a 'zombie' virus ? Some countries are nothing more than sparsely uninhabited deserts/glaciers/wastelands that share little next to no borders with anyone (if u own a globe, im sure you can find them). Such countries might be advantageous when it comes to survival i would think. Others however are densely populated and share borders with up to 2,3 or more countries. My guess is that countries such as India and China would be the impacted the HARDEST by such a virus for the obvious reason that the majority of these nations civilians live in poverty and in rural areas with no access to mainland infrastructure (roads, bridges, rail-links, airports), telecommunications, medical establishments and so forth. Did I mention collectively the aforementioned countries boast over 2 billion+ in populace ? I think that the military super powers such as America and Russia would stick to a hardcore 'quarantine' approach if such an outbreak of a deadly virus did emerge and would stand a better chance of containing it because of better mainland infrastructure, telecommunications and all the other malarkey. Russia might even try to turn the problem into an oppertunity given what they're like when it comes to things like biological aagents and viruses, maybe somehow mutate the virus and create 'loyal super zombie soldiers' , who knows. I think tiny countries like Sri Lanka would be wiped off the map within days, and I think poor european countries would too. I hate to say it but England wouldn't last without external aid from one of the superpowers, and it most probably would be acquired from the Americans. But what do you think ? which countries would be impacted the hardest by a 'zombie virus' and which ones would be better prepared for such an eventuality ?
