How old are the satellite images of Google Earth? Does anyone use Google Earth? I just downloaded and am wondering how old the pictures are. I saw my old high school and definitely know the pictures of my school are 3.5 years at their oldest (from the renovation of and addition of huge buildings), but I looked at pictures of my house and I can definitely tell its older than 3.5 years. Satellite map images - any better than Google? Google maps provides a great way to look at detailed satellite images of the whole of the UK (great when house-hunting) but in some of the more rural areas, it doesn't go down to a very great zoom level. Sod's law - my new house comes under this category. Law advice, what should I do? Okay, so I joined this liberal group on Facebook and these people started calling me names because they didn't agree with what I thought, so I retaliated and now one of them pulled up a satellite image of my house and put it on the pictures of the group. Long story short, my fiance and I were broken up over the summer, and during that time he had a very brief fling with a girl in the town he was working in for about 6 weeks. It had no writing or anything and was just a link to a google maps image. I opened it up and it was a link to the satellite image of my house. WTF. I don't know what to do or if this constitutes harrassment. I feel like i should do something, esp. since she is a first grade teacher in her state. But is there anything the police can do?

My friend says an old friend of hers often makes comments about how he is watching her........from a satellite on his computer and always seems to know where she is. I thought it might be just from him driving by her house and following her but she thinks because he is a bit of a computer geek that he may be watching her house from a satellit....is that possible? Where are the people on satellite images? ? I know this might sound like a dumb question or something that I should know, but I'm clueless. Whenever I search for someone on Google Maps or Zabasearch, I'm shown a satellite image of the top of that person's house, neighborhood, and city. Also, I'm shown cars, street names, and etc. However, I don't see any humans outside. I figured, because people are almost always outside, why aren't they found in the satellite images? Thanx! ^__^

Considering a new house : is it too close to the railway station? (sat image incl)? I am considering a great house in a good suburb(in Australia but that shouldn't matter). The problem is it may be a little too close to the railway station. Although I will live in it for the time being, I am looking at property primarily for the investment so I am wondering if this will have an big impact on its value in the future. Right now I am leaning towards not going for the house. But it is difficult to find good property where I live so Id like few more opinions. Google Earth - How close are we to DNA identification? Google Earth now has the capability to display satellite images of people/faces and license plates for a given location on Earth. Presumably, facial recognition technology can be used to identify people whose faces can be seen in the images. However, how long before a scan is possible to determine if a particular individual at a given location is, in fact, a person that is wanted by authorities? It may sound crazy, but if you said 15 years ago that you'd be able to punch in an address on your computer and get a satellite image of your house and yard, with the detail to be able to see a person in the yard, people would have thought you crazy.... Anyone have any thoughts on this?
